Bank$ represents the new school of the new era of female rappers in Chicago that is unmatched. A standout voice and real bars, Baha sets herself apart outside of a typical rap chic. Her debut single “MAD” addresses jealousy and haters, while she delivers a no-nonsense, no bs mood throughout the single. New to the rap game, Baha carries herself classy yet gets the message not being new to the negative energy.

Mcilvain has recently teamed up with power house producer King Graint, and his rebranded 9:19 Music Group/Management team.

 King Graint’s credentials feature working with major artists and labels such as Juicy J, CyHi The Prynce Royce Da 5’9, Crooked I (KXNG CROOKED), several artist’s from Slaughterhouse who are signed to Shady Records, and Butch Cassidy. Graint stated that 2020 is going to be the biggest year for him, as well as 9:19 Music Group as whole, with several albums set to drop early this year. As always, helping King Graint grow his empire is his longtime manager and right hand man, Jay Moses (President and A&R of 9:19 Music Group).

 Mcilvain produces, sings, and writes his own music, which is heavily inspired by his own personal experiences throughout life. His catchy melodies and emotional lyrics are rooted in his journey of doubt, failure, broken experiences and relationships, making his sound easily relatable to his listeners. Mcilvain portrays this emotion so simply in his lyrics, separating him from other artists in his genre. You can find his latest single “Summer”, which was released on Dec 27th on all platforms.

Scott Aukerman | Kid Cudi

Let’s call a spade a spade, and admit things haven’t been going ideally for Kid Cudi in recent years. Suffering from depression, insulting fans at live shows, not enough music production, and ultimately leaving G.O.O.D Music certainly hasn’t helped his career, and while it seems like Kid Cudi is constantly struggling to find himself and his role within the entertainment industry, his summer at least looks a little more stable than usual as he will replace comedian and musician Reggie Watts as a regular co-host on Comedy Bang! Bang! Although this is somewhat surprising, Cudi has experimented with acting for some time now, landing a small role on Brooklyn-Nine-Nine, The Cleveland Show and a role in the upcoming Entourage movie. If you’re unaware, Cudi is really funny when he wants to be which could actually make Comedy Bang! Bang! a great fit for him along side Scott Aukerman. Check out Cudi’s recently released album SATELLITE FLIGHT: The Journey to Mother Moon, and look for him to takeover co-hosting duties early to late June.

With summer officially beginning today, it was only right that Dom Kennedy dropped a track to give us a little preview of his upcoming album, Get Home Safely. This is his type of weather, after all. The online outlet of RESPECT. Magazine is looking for summer interns to start in mid-June. If you have a deep passion and knowledge of hip-hop and music this job is for you. Tasks include:

-Daily blog posts

-Assisting with copy-editing and fact-checking

-Transcribing interviews and data entry

-Archiving and organizing photos for our new app

You’ll also have the chance to contribute to the print magazine. WordPress/online skills are a must. Intern must be organized, hard-working and detail oriented.  If you have a specific interest in writing about lifestyle, art, graffiti, or photography, please make that known on your application.

The internship is unpaid (you will receive a daily stipend); the ability to gain college credit for the internship is strongly preferred. Additionally, applicants must be based in NYC for the summer months.
