Recently, the two decided to remind fans of how dope this project is by releasing a new visual for the album cut “Concrete,” which features assistance from Westside Gunn and Termanology. The clip — shot by Watsyn Filmz and Trill Art — sees the collaborators bringing out the whips and jumps between Houston and NYC.

Early April, Kevin made it to rapper Tory Lanez page and gained over 2 million views in 24hrs with a viral video showcasing Tory’s new single “Freaky”. Kevin just dropped off his new album titled Poison and the cover track has a ridiculous video shot and edited by Kevin himself.

Kevin is no newcomer to the game tho once having a record deal with DJ Statik Selektah’s Label (Showoff) in 2014. Kevin has worked with big artist such as Waka Flocka, Maino, Action Bronson, & many more. The California native is ready to show the world what the game has been missing. With versatility, Kevin easily shows why he deserves to be mentioned with the greats on his upcoming  album.

Seems like Statik Selektah‘s got a thing for numbers. And after two years with no LP, it’s time for the follow up to his seventh album, Lucky 7.

After signing to Roc Nation, Selektah announces his final compilation, 8. Aptly named, the new set features appearances from various old school and new school heavyweights like 2Chainz, Raekwon, and Wale. 

Joey Bada$$, Run the Jewels, The LOX, Black Thought, Freddie Gibbs, and the late Sean Price, are among others on the project.

8 is scheduled for distribution on Selektah’s Showoff/Duckdown record label this summer.  Aside from the forthcoming project, the Boston-born, Brooklyn-based producer/DJ laid tracks for 2Chainz and Nas’ upcoming solo albums.

In addition, he’s produced tracks on recent releases like Joey Bada$$’s All-AmeriKKKan Badass and “Detroit vs. Everybody” featuring Eminem, Royce Da 5’9,” Big Sean, Danny Brown, Dej Loaf, Trick-Trick.

With over two decades in the industry, Selektah’s catalog also includes collaborations with underground hip-hop veterans like Termonalogy, Saigon, and Freeway.

Eccentric and passionate New York native MC Whiteowl portrays the hunger of a rising artist in his literally out-there new video for “One Chance,” produced by the ubiquitous Statik Selektah.

Given the setting and what Owl goes through to find relief and sustenance, the clip’s protagonist resembles a hybrid of Tom Hanks’ Castaway character and a down-on-his-luck John Rambo. As in, dude’s clearly been hitting the weights, but has also lost his mind a bit during his time alone in the woods, where he fashions himself a spear to, yes, catch his dinner.

It’s all a visual metaphor for how Owl felt when he was recording “One Chance,” which he sums up in its hook when spitting: “If you had, one chance to kill a Statik track/ Would you spit heat on the beat or would you just fall flat?” He obviously put his all into everything associated with the track, from its borderline-scatterbrain bars to the video’s overall narrative (which, by the way, has a happy ending).

The beefy raps also throw a shade at Troy Ave who he had beef with last year, addressing things like “My ni**a Kirk just outsold Troy Ave”. The pair went back and forth over record sales back in June after Joey called himself the “#1 independent hip-hop artist/brand in the world.” Troy tweeted that the B4.DA.$$ rapper was a “fake independent” and cited his big-name sponsorship deals. It sounds like Joey isn’t done with him just yet.

With staying focused on his sophomore album release, an appearance on Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Princes list under his belt and new music, it is a great way of starting 2016 off. Stream the track below
