Earlier this week, Inglewood artist SiR announced that he would be inking a deal with RCA Records. That’s not the only news, the TDE signee also announced a new single with Kendrick Lamar as well. Well, that collaboration is finally here. “Hair Down” is the first official single off of SiR’s third studio album, Chasing Summer, and contains production from Black Monday, Uzi, and Mike Hector.

“Baby, I’m just tryna lay my hair down,” SiR says in the chorus. The term simply means to live in the moment and that’s exactly what the two do on this track. Both artists have a tendency to wear their dreadlocks in a number of styles, but this time they’re letting it hang. “Hair Down” marks the first collaboration between SiR and Kendrick Lamar; check the video-accompanied track out below.

East London’s own Nao drops off a super-soulful new single titled “Make It Out Alive,” which features assistance from TDE artist SiR. As the For All We Know singer explains, the track (which she co-produced with GRADES) is all about breaking free of an “experience” many of us deal with everyday:

“I’d hit my late twenties and everything was in flux; relationships, work life, home situation, everything. I was lost and I genuinely had to ask ‘how do you make it out of here?’ The idea of making it a duet was to reflect how many people, all over the world, are going through the same experience. I’d been a huge fan of SiR’s voice and songwriting for a while so I was over the moon when he agreed to join me on the track.”

Check out “Make It Out Alive” below, along with another single titled “Complicated,” which features fellow UK artist Mura Masa.

Double standards in America are just disgusting, don’t you think? Like how can one set of people, have a completely different set of rules and regulations just based on skin color, sexual preference of gender. It’s crazy. One of the most blasphemous double standards is the fact that it’s more frowned upon for men to pursue sugar mamas as opposed to what women are doing with these older men. Where’s the equality??

I’ll tell you where, it’s with revolutionary saxophonist/singer Masego & his equally as talented partner SiR, as they drop off their sultry new collaboration, “Old Age.”

Set to the tone of seductive baselines combined with Masego’s keen Sax & SiR’s uniquely wonderful voice, “Old Age” is a fun, energetic track about two young men fantasizing over older women with big bags. While the topic may sound shallow at it’s core, that’s where the genius of SiR & Masego come in, as they disguise the easy-to-dismiss boastful lyrics in a beautifully packaged present filled with groovy riffs, fun cadences & a soulful sound.

Check out, “Old Age” below and be sure to keep an eye on Masego & SiR, respectively, as both careers are starting to heat up. Masego’s debut is slated for release on 9/7.

Miguel, singer and producer from California, made his epic return to New Haven, Connecticut. It was a special night for the artist because he had never played at the College Street Music Hall, the venue that held the event. Fans were given an unforgettable performance on a historic night.

Joining Miguel on tour is TDE’s own, SiR. SiR’s new project, November is a melodic, soulful piece that was a huge success. The project was personal and had no help from any other artists except for the song, “Something Foreign,” that featured label mate, ScHoolboy Q. Top Dawg Entertainment’s (TDE) taste in artists have been undeniably superior and as of late, the addition of a new R&B prospect shows they don’t intend to slow down. SiR’s performance was a sample of what’s to expect on The Championship Tour this summer with the rest of his TDE family.

An incredible live band assisted Miguel in recreating hits from all his previous albums. He performed songs like “All I Want Is You,” “Arch & Point,” and “Adorn.” He also performed songs he was featured on like “Lotus Flowerbomb” and “Power Trip.” A venue full of screaming women made it nearly impossible to talk to the person next you. The vocalist sang beautifully, sounding exactly how he does on record. His skills as a guitar player are also under appreciated. Miguel joined his live band to bring his own twist of strings to the music. A great performance by a great artist.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="184325"
Miguel is a singer, song writer and producer from Los Angeles, California. He started singing at the age of 13 and worked his way to his first record deal in 2007. In 2010, Miguel released his first studio album, All I Want Is You, which is now labeled “a slept on classic.” After a record label change, the singer dropped Kaleidoscope Dream, his second studio album, which was followed up by his third, Wildheart. Although Miguel has worked with some of the top artists in the music industry such as J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Usher and more, many fans feel he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. With his fourth album, fans were given a new version of the artist they had never heard before.

War and Leisure is a sexual, psychedelic album with less digital funk and more strumming guitars. The melodic performance given on the project creates the debate that this album is his best work to date. Assists from Rick Ross, Kali Uchis and of course Travis Scott on leading single “Sky Walker,” gave War and Leisure the last of the key components needed to create a complete masterpiece.

Miguel is now on the road with Kendrick Lamar’s newest label mate, SiR, who is also off the release of an incredible new project, November. The War and Leisure tour is making a stop at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT and RESPECT will be there to bring you full coverage of the event. If you plan on attending, get your tickets fast.
