Although both have separate professions, Cardi B and Chadwick Boseman are currently lighting up their respective industries. The Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War actor has captured everyone’s heart as T’Challa, the hero-king of Wakanda; meanwhile, Cardi B has been everywhere music and pop culture are intertwined.

There’s A First Time For Everything

Wakanda person won’t be interested in seeing these two talents be on Saturday Night Live? Initially, the announcement of a Chadwick and Cardi team-up was made during this past Saturday’s (March 17) live broadcast, which featured former cast member Bill Hader as host.

Naturally, Boseman will host and Cardi will step in as musical guest. Check out Cardi’s reaction to the news from her Instagram below. Fingers crossed that both will appear in a sketch together!

Despite the show kicking off by avoiding the usual direct criticism of now President-elect, Donald Trump, Dave Chappelle opened his initial monologue more pointed with criticism of the election result reactions saying, “It seemed like Hillary [Clinton] was up in the polls, but I know the whites.”

While most of the media seemed shocked by Trump’s win, Chappelle wasn’t surprised at all, a reaction that he channeled into his first skit, with an appearance by none other than fellow legendary political comedian Chris Rock, titled “Election Night.”

As if the night couldn’t get any more epic, A Tribe Called Quest hit the stage with their first performance, performing the song, “We The People,” a politically charged song that excoriates complacency in the face of xenophobia, racism, and homophobia. The performance, which noticeably was missing the charisma of Phife, ended up as an on-air tribute to the Hip Hop legend as the group unfurled a banner featuring the rapper’s face among a piece of art.

For those of us who missed the Chappelle Show, Dave did his own tribute to the show and beloved characters during his “Walking Dead Chappelle’s Show” skit, which featured characters Tyrone Biggums, Chuck Taylor, Clayton Bigsby, the Time Travelling Haters and Lil Jon facing death as Negan decides who he’s going to off. Eventually, Chappelle’s Negan chooses to kill Tyrone Biggums. After the baseball bat decapitates him, however, Tyrone’s head comes rolling back, and does, in fact, have its own political message to declare:

“Even though our country seems irrevocably severed, like a man from his head, let my example prove that we should continue to move forward.” In some ways, the bizarre, genre-bursting sequence seemed like a proper response to such an insane week. Tyrone notes, “I’ve only got two weeks until they take away my health care.”

The final performance of the night featured ATCQ performing “The Space Program” with special appearances by Busta Rhymes and Consequence, which was the best way to end an amazing show. Still paying tribute to Phife, the group performs the second track off of their final album, We Got it From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.

During an interview with the New York Times, Q-Tip spoke on him and Phife Dawg mending their often-fractious relationship, stating that he was unaware that things were that critical with Phife’s health.

“I had no idea that his days was numbered,” Q-Tip told the New York Times. “I just want to celebrate him, you know.”

Over the last 40+ years, Saturday Night Live has had some amazing talent to grace it’s stage and some very well loved co-host too, and actress Margot Robbie is no exception.

On Friday (September 23), SNL has announced that Robbie will host their 42nd season premiere set to debut live on October 1st. Robbie, who has had an amazing year after starring in two major films ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Tarzan’, is most well known as the the actress who played Leonardo DiCaprio‘s wife in the major motion film, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. Robbie who’s also played in the movie ‘The Big Short’, is no stranger to the big screen – but what about Prime time television? Robbie’s roles on the big screen roles have all been very dramatic, to say the least, so it’ll be very nice to see her let her hair down on the comedy circuit.

According to the NY Daily News, the 26-year-old Australian actress was one of the most frequently requested hosts when ‘SNL’ openly questioned the public for suggestions. After tallying results, SNL took to Twitter to announce that they have given fans their long time wish.

SNL, who recently lost cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, are coming into the new premiere season with a big bang! This season, the show has announced the addition of three new players joining the cast Alex Moffat, Melissa Villasenor and Mikey Day; in addition to two new head writers.  With the show making major changes  and with Robbie as the opener and musical guest The Weeknd, who just dropped his first single ‘Starboy’ on Tuesday as the musical guest; these strategic moves are proving that SNL is definitely headed for a really good season. Hopefully, SNL will have continued success for many more years to come.

Breaking news: Beyonce is black. Beyonce turning black shocked an entire nation during the 2016 NFL Super bowl. Out of nowhere, she just turned black on everybody- what gives? She’s well known for her euphoric dance records. Fans are more accustomed to “Single Ladies,” “Baby Boy,” and “Drunk In Love.”  How dare she sing about Afros and hot sauce? What is her motive here? She’s definitely a menace that is trying to start a race war with her pop music. Why is she singing and dancing with Black Panthers during Black History Month? This makes no sense to us. Her blackness is so unapologetic; it has become a national crisis in America. Forget poverty, gun control, and student debt – Beyonce’s blackness is the real issue here. Using her platform to talk about cops killing innocent people and children is downright disgusting. That monster!

When America realized Beyonce was black, it was a lot like 9/11. Ask yourself: Where were you when you found out Beyonce was black? This was definitely the deal breaker. Her realization was so offensive; groups are now protesting her. Yes, being black nowadays is such an uncommon thing because black people don’t exist in 2016. We are all racially ambiguous- duh? There is no such thing as prejudice or discrimination- just figments of our imaginations, an incredulous myth that the Black Lives Matter protesters made up, and a result to people being hyper-sensitive all the time. Racism isn’t real, it’s just that, minorities can’t take a joke. Yes, we went there. Being proud of being black, on top of that, is just downright sickening. What kind of message is Beyonce sending to African American children for Christ’s sake? Beyonce must be punished for looking in the mirror and acknowledging her heritage. We can’t have black people being proud of their heritage. Just enough to make you want to throw up, right?

Calm down. We’re only being sarcastic. Beyonce rocks! Don’t compartmentalize Beyonce’s Superbowl performance too much. America is really over-thinking this. It’s just entertainment. Take very deep breaths while watching “Formation”. Beyonce being black isn’t the end of the world. She’s been a black person for a very long time. It’s just your subconscious hadn’t acknowledged it. Her blackness has totally gone unnoticed for years. She was black in that Austin Powers movie. She had an Afro and everything, remember? Beyonce being black isn’t the end of the world after all. It’s just time for us to accept it with open, loving arms and focus on issues that matter, like… the presidential debate? How about focusing our attention on the water crisis in Flint, Michigan? There are so many serious matters in the world today that are more pertinent to protest. Beyonce’s Super bowl performance should be last on that list because it isn’t a national crisis, just a performance. You know artists do that from time to time- exercising their first amendment right of freedom of speech. From a journalistic standpoint, it really wasn’t that newsworthy, just a really great performance. Saturday Night Live took a shot at this controversy too and it’s hilarious. Check it out below.

Kendrick Lamar was last night’s musical guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and he made sure to put on a great performance.

The Compton native performed a high-energy rendition of “i.” With his simple attire of a white shirt and jeans, and his untamed hair Lamar brought a great level of vigor to the performance. The live instrumentals made each bar even more intense.

 Jay Rock and a hat joined Kendrick Lamar on stage shortly after “i” to perform “Pay For It.”  Kendrick serves as feature on this one but that doesn’t mean he brought it any less. Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock’s bars flowed effortlessly on stage. The same cannot be said about the track’s vocal feature Chantal. Her voice appeared to be strained and a bit out of place. Despite this, K. Dot’s musical appearance is one that will be buzzed about for awhile.

Mr. Rager himself, Kid Cudi, is expected to appear on the Fox prime time TV sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine this fall. Appearing first on One Tree Hill as himself, on the HBO series How to Make it in America and as a voice-over on The Cleveland Show, this will be the rapper’s third  in person TV appearance. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a quirky, cop comedy staring Andy Samberg, (“Saturday Night Live”, The Lonely Island) and Andre Braugher (“Men of a Certain Age”) and Terry Crews. Kid Cudi will fill the guest role of an ex-con named Dustin Whitman. The show is set to premiere Tuesday Sept. 17.

Upon leaving Kanye West’s GOOD Music record label, Cudi’s career has definitely not been quiet. His most recent album Indicud, reached #2 on the charts this year, racking up even more support and success for the artist. Many musicians have chosen to go down the acting route with hopes of revamping their career. However, Cudi’s career doesn’t seem to need any help at the moment. There is no word yet on if Cudi plans to pursue an acting career long term. Check out the trailer for Brooklyn Nine-Nine below.

This past Saturday, our beloved Kendrick Lamar performed as the musical guest for NBC’s Satuday Night Live. Accompanied by a full band, Kendrick performed “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice” between the show’s sketches.

In addition to performing his two singles, Lamar managed to record and film a guest verse in a Lonely Island digital short as Andy Samberg made his first return appearance after leaving the show last season. The digital short, entitled “YOLO,” doubles as an acronym for “You Oughta Look Out.” It’s nice to see Kendrick branching out a bit and showing his less-serious side to his artistry.
