Unless you lived under a rock last year, then you’ve witnessed the rise of Los Angeles native, Las Vegas transfer BBKnight (FKA: Lil’ Knight). After amassing half a million views on his breakout hit, “Zines,” Knight buckled down with his team and has steadily been releasing some of the best visuals all year. Never one to sit idle, Knight returns with his brothers BBKoat & Heartbreak ICY for his spooky new video for, “Friday, The 13th.”

Produced by Jean-Pierre, almost immediately the song entraps you with it’s thumping bass-kicks and Knights catchy, “BEE!” adlib to compliment it, right before Knight absolutely rips into the beat. One knock on the crew of upstarts, has been their lack of “lyricism,” — which is cap — but on this one, the trio of youngsters tag-team the beat as if it owed them money. After Knight goes, rising Vegas rapper Koat comes in and lets it fly right before 17-year-old ICY delivers without a doubt the best verse on the song.

The best part about the video isn’t the lyricism, though. It’s the package of everything put together that makes it hard to turn your head away. The look, the swag, the visual effects and most importantly, the music, can carry this track, and video, to potentially new heights for the group.

Check out the video for, “Friday, The 13th” above and be sure to get familiar with the BB crew.

Hip-Hop has always been known for its contributions to America’s ever evolving capacity for dialogue — slang — and lately, for its effects on political & social matters. But the one thing without a doubt that has always been our main export is swagger. If I’m not mistaken, the kids these days are calling it, “drip.” Whatever you want to call it, just know that nobody has more of it than wonder-duo BB Knight & BB Koat, & they have no problem letting that be known in the new video for, “No Static.”

One of the first things that caught my eye other than the mind-boggling visual effects provided by buzzing video-director LoneWolf, was the authenticity of the location. While the video provides a beautiful California backdrop, it’s one that’s different from the normal sunny skies or Fairfax fashion shots that were used to seeing.

With insane production by Vegas riser UliCookUp setting the table for BB to black out, “No Static” serves as the perfect follow up to last years string of videos that have made both artists red-hot on the underground scene. Check out the video below and be sure to stay connected with BB Knight & Koat.

After seeing the year that Atlanta super-group, Migos has had on their own, as well as together–it’s not hard to imagine other Hip-Hop collectives to seek the same formula. Although many will fail, West Coast duo BB Koat & BB Knight have created wide open lanes together, and on their solo tip. With Knight kicking it off with the buzzing Lonewolf-directed visuals for his single, “Zines” Koat ups the ante with the wildly infectious new track, “No Stress.”

Sticking to the catchy, melodic flow that has made him a standout on their group cuts–Koat showcases a vast lyrical improvement that’s going to make this track a fan favorite with trendy bars like, “Yeah we smoking on the back, we don’t fuck with bongs.”

With a calculated image to go along with an equally infectious vocal style, Koat has solidified a solid solo trajectory to match the limitless potential that the duo has showcased.

Check out, “No Stress” below, and get to know the Vegas artist.

It’s been almost two whole years since Kanye West uttered that infamous phrase during his acceptance speech at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Yet, in the grand scheme of the musical landscape, it’s felt so much longer. The reason? Hip-Hop’s mainstream has gotten a complete make-over. It seems as if ever since Ye mentioned those words, melody > lyrics has been the wave. Just look at the artists over the past year who have generated the most press and you’ll see names like Lil’ Yachty, Lil’ Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti and more dominating those conversations.

The reason? The kids, bro… & the kids told us on Twitter that Las Vegas reps Lil’ Knight and Lil’ Koat are next up, practically begging for their new track, “She Understands” featuring Vegas’ resident Teen King, Le$LaFlame. Well kids, here it is.

Set to the tune of a beautifully distorted flute — actually it might be a recorder? — by producer Locks, the song follows a similar pattern that most of today’s popular tracks have adopted: flows, hoes and more flows. The twist in this one is the chemistry between the three artists. The trio seamlessly bounce off one another to give off cadences that sound effortless, but would leave you sounding silly attempting to try on your own.

“Rolling Loud was a movieeeeeeeeeeee (camera emoji)”

Stop me if you’ve read this Tweet more than 50 thousand times since the Miami festival has passed. If you’ve been to any festival/concert/millenial-events in the past year or so and decided to look on socia media afterwards, it’s likely that you’ve seen that phrase thrown around more than a frisbee. The funniest part about it is, most people claiming to be in the, “movieeeeeeeeeeee” are often goofies with deep pockets who more often than not, lack any type of juice and look like this.

(Alright, that wasn’t fair. I actually like Rich Chigga, I just don’t know man. I just. don’t. know.) (I’m also incredibly salty that I wasn’t at Rolling Loud, so take this for what you will.)

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-162557" data-attachment-id="162557" data-permalink="https://respect-mag.com/img_2580/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/respect-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/IMG_2580.jpg?fit=2730%2C4096&ssl=1" data-orig-size="2730,4096" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"1"}" data-image-title="IMG_2580" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="<p>Lil&#8217; Koat by @mrgroup</p>

Never the ones to be associated with the goofies and the noobs, Las Vegas duo Lil’ Knight & Lil’ Koat take us on a trip down to Miami in the sauced out new visual for, “Surpass.” Coming off of the recently released, GoGeta project, “Surpass” is essentially this generation’s version of an inspirational track. Koat & Knight trade-off bars about leveling up and never looking down over the uptempo beat, which is carried by these pitched down drum-kicks that sound like bongos off the Actavis. Seriously, this song — and even more so the video — are wavy as fu*k. “Honestly the song was old and we’re on to new things, finally finding our own sound,” said Lil’ Knight to RESPECT., “We just figured the visuals would bring the song more life because we were in Miami, trying to surpass these niggas.”

Check out the new video for, “Surpass” and be sure to keep an eye on the dynamic duo.
