Virginia native Lew Sid has officially released his highly anticipated “Fried Rice” visual. His west coast swag and  confident demeanor reaches new heights, as he takes fans on a magical ride of creative bliss. From beginning to end, you will see exactly why this emcee is up next to blow in the music industry.

In his new video, you will Lew Sid spitting some of his illest bars, in Chinatown surrounded by Asian scenery. As he openly tells listeners about how much he likes “chicken and fried rice” it easy to understand why he decided on the particular scenery to better narrate his flows.

Being that he is a residence of Los Angeles, it is dope seeing him pay homage to his city and Lakers. You will see him rocking a number 23 jersey, which is none other than NBA royalty Lebron James. As he candidly spits bar after bar in the middle of a basketball court, it becomes clear of how much love he has for LA and music.

Some notable lyrics from this release include “Back at HU I use to hit Hochi, laid up in Cook Hall couldn’t get no sleep, Mumbo sauce fried rice and four wings got to step around the dope fiend when I leave”. These woke and  conscious lyrics are a direct reflection of his seriousness for being the best emcee he possibly can be.

Recently, Pusha T (once again) spoke up about his battle-turned-ugly with Drake, essentially saying that he talks like he’s really about going to war, only to come up short when it’s time. Even with that in the air, nothing compares to what Drake said on the latest episode of Lebron James’ The Shop:

“People love to say, like rap purists and people who just love confrontation, they love to say, ‘There’s no rules in this s***.’ But there are f***ing rules in this s***… And I’m gonna tell you something, I knew something was gonna come up about my kid. They had to add the deadbeat thing to make it more appealing, which is fine. I understand that. Even that, I was like, OK. The mom and dad thing, whatever. You don’t even know my family. But I’ma tell you, wishing death on my friend that has MS? I study rap battles for a living. Now when you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, that passed away, that really sent me to a place where I just believed then, and believe now, that there’s just a price that you have to pay for that. It’s over. You’re gonna get… someone’s gonna f***ing punch you in the f***ing face. The s***’s done, the event’s over. I wanted to do other things. I didn’t wanna further your reputation or your career by rapping back at you and having this exchange. And that was it for me.”

Taking a step backward, he also used that sit-down to explain his real issues with Kanye West — especially in regards to his supposed role in the “beef” with Pusha T:

“I ended up linking with Ye, and he sold me on this whole speech of like, ‘I’m in a great place, I’m making money, and I’m a father, and I wanna be Quincy Jones and help you, but in order to do that, you’ve gotta be transparent with me. And you gotta play me your music, and you gotta tell me when you’re dropping… And so I was in the studio, guess we all kind of felt a genuine vibe from it. So I play him my music, and I told him when I was dropping.”

“I spent all my time, pretty much working on [Kanye’s] stuff… And again, I left Wyoming with ‘Lift Yourself’ and a pat on the back. Alright, I’ll try to make the most of this and hopefully he sends some more things through. By the way, I’m in Wyoming, I play him ‘March 14’ I send him a picture of my son. I tell him I’m having trouble with my son’s mother. We had a conversation.”

“I wake up, and all these dates are out — all around June 15. Then the next two days, I wake up to this text from him, passive like, ‘Yo, I love you brother’… ‘Lift Yourself’ comes out with him just talking nonsense. ‘Oh this guy’s trolling me.’ This was a manipulative, ‘I wanna break you’ thing. So I said alright. I’m gonna go back to distancing myself again. I know what this is. Then, the first album drops. And of course there’s a diss song towards me that you produced, that’s talking about writing? I was just there with you, as friends, helping you. And now you’re dissing me. So I’m like, man, this is dark.”

Finally, Drake also spoke on what really happened with his response to “The Story Of Adidon”:

“I got home and I just listened back to it, and I was like, ‘man, this is not something I ever want to be remembered for. This is not even a place that I necessarily want to go… And to all the people who enjoy that, I tip my hat to you. By the way, hell of a chess move. The song, I thought it was trash. But the chess move was genius. Back against the wall. I either go all the way filthy or I fall back and I have this sort of chink in my armor for the rest of time to a rap purist. Which is fine, I can live with that. I would much rather live with that than the things that I was about to… the research I did, the things that I was gonna say, and the places that I was gonna go. Not only for him, but the other guy too.”

For the record, Pusha T has since seen the interview as well (although Kanye probably hasn’t)…

Some 20-plus years after the Michael Jordan-led original, Lebron James revealed that Space Jam 2 isn’t a joke — and Black Panther directed Ryan Coogler is producing it.

“I loved his vision [for Black Panther]… So for Ryan to be able to bring that to kids, it’s amazing.” – As told to Hollywood Reporter.

James also spoke on the true meaning behind the movie that he wants to youth to understand:

“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie… It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”

Yep. Two of the best in the NBA, Lebron James and Kevin Durant, have — for one song — joined the ranks of their peers who have tried their hands at a Rap career. Last week, producer Frank Wahoo liberated the song, titled “It Ain’t Easy,” which is seven years old and could have possibly been included on the NBA 2K19 soundtrack.

He explained the collaboration to Noisey, of which a snippet is below:

I would make beats for MGK and he would go to this studio called Swagger Studios a lot and work with this guy named Ben Schigel. So, that’s the studio LeBron James and Kevin Durant came up to cause it was during the lockout. Originally it was only going to be Kevin Durant that was going to record, cause he did music and stuff, but then LeBron James ended up showing up. So we turned on the Pro Tools setup, and Schigel recorded a couple of songs over 4 or 5 Watch the Throne beats — “N**** In Paris”, “Lift Off,” and “HAM” — and two [original] songs. The one LeBron song [“It Ain’t It”] was the one that I was a part of. Then they left, didn’t hear anything of it. It was kind of cool, just this dude came in, there was no paperwork signed. Just recorded, hung out all night and left.

This is dope: Travis Scott‘s wins continue following his number 1 album Astroworld. This week, it’s been announced that Travis Scott will be curating the official soundtrack of this year’s NBA 2K installment (which makes landfall September 7th)…the announcement was marked with a sit-down between Travis Scott and newly-minted Los Angeles Laker Lebron James (who is featured on the NBA 2K19 cover for their 20th anniversary). Feel free to check that sit-down below; I look forward to the game’s audio giving me and everyone I see playing NBA 2K the permanent ugly face.

The circus is coming to town! NBA All-Star Weekend will take place in Los Angeles from February 16-18 and this year’s event promises to feature a ton of intrigue on court and off. For anybody paying extra attention this year, you can bet on the skills competition,

the dunk contest and the three point contest at Bovada.

Before you get in there, read the details here for more info about them, since Bovada was the same site pushing the Mayweather-McGregor fight heavy, you can expect there to be some special features.

The betting lines for Team LeBron vs Team Stephen aren’t out yet but expect that to come out tomorrow.

Respect-Mag rounded up some of the juiciest storylines that are a bit harder to throw money down on but definitely what people are watching for.

Will Kyrie and LeBron James share the ball?

LeBron shocked everyone when he selected Kyrie Irving for his hand-picked All-Star team. He could have chosen any number of elite players, but instead he picked the one dude on the planet who vocally declared he wanted nothing to do with him.

Don’t forget, Irving was so intent on getting away from King James that he reportedly threatened to undergo knee surgery to force his way out of Cleveland. We now get to see these two together again and it will be fascinating to watch them (try to) coexist.

Will LeBron go out of his way to set up Irving?

Will Irving freeze out LeBron and go balls-to-the wall in an attempt to win MVP honors? No matter what happens, we all win.

Will Superstars Court LeBron?

All-Star Weekend is traditionally a great time for schmoozing, but this year it could turn into a recruitment fair. Don’t be surprised if James Harden uses the weekend to try to convince LeBron to bolt to Houston, or if LeBron and Paul George spend their downtime hashing out a possible future with the Lakers.

Will Draymond Green Get a Tech?

No player has ever been teed up for a technical foul in an NBA All-Star Game, but that could change this weekend thanks to Draymond Green. The fiery forward has already piled up 14 techs and three ejections this season, and is easily one of the most combustible players in league history.

Will Nate Robinson Dunk Win Butler into Oblivion?  

The league has revamped its Celebrity Game this year to include several former pros like Paul Pierce, Tracy McGrady, Jason Williams, and Nate Robinson.

Most of them will barely work up a sweat, but it’s easy to imagine Robinson taking this exhibition way too seriously. The three-time Slam Dunk champ still believes he should be logging 30-minutes a night on a playoff contender. If he could dunk over Dwight Howard, just imagine what he can do to Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler.  

Will Kevin Hart Go too far?   

The NBA has decided to spice up its All-Star Game intros this year by giving the mic to Kevin Hart. It’s a fun idea in theory, but will the pint-sized comedian really be able to control himself when the cameras start rolling?

What will happen if he goes a little too far in making fun of Joel Embiid, or if he needs seven tries to correctly pronounce “Antetokounmpo”? Is this the year that we get to see a 5-foot-4 man get dunked on by a 7-footer?

Last week at the NBA’s trading deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers re-created their team.

Within an hour, the Cavs traded Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye, Jae Crowder, Derrick Rose, Iman Shumpert, Dwyane Wade and their 2018 first-round pick.

In turn, they added youth, grit and shooting by nabbing George Hill from the Sacramento Kings, Rodney Hood from the Utah Jazz and coupled them with Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. from the Los Angeles Lakers.

At the end of the day it’s all love ?

Yesterday afternoon, the NBA’s national television audience got a glimpse at the new-look Cavaliers when they Kyrie Irving-led Boston Celtics.

The Cavs won the game 121-99. LeBron James finished the road win with 24 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists. Jordan Clarkson  had 17 points.

Can a newly cemented Cavaliers team take on a Golden State Warriors team in the NBA Finals in June?
