<p>Recently, The Black Opera (the artistic collective with roots from Nigeria, Uganda, Madagascar, France and the United States) have released &#8220;Sacred Cow&#8221;, a new self-produced record that introduces new member Johnny Void which explores the topics of injustice, belief and trust. The group has an affinity for embedding real topics into their verses and crafting or utilizing production that keeps them “hip” in today’s competitive musical landscape. <p>Earlier this month, indie label <strong>Mello Music Group </strong>announced a new collaboration with producer <strong>Apollo Brown, </strong><strong>Verbal Kent </strong>and <strong>Detroit</strong> based emcee <strong>Red Pill </strong>under the alias of <strong>Ugly Heroes</strong>.  The outfit will be releasing their self-titled debut this year. Before doing so <strong>Red Pill</strong> just put out his new project <em><strong>The Kick</strong>, </em>alongside <strong>Detroit</strong> based <strong>Hir-O</strong>. <em><strong>The Kick</strong>, </em>which features collaborations from vets <strong>Jamall Bufford </strong>and <strong>Ras Kente</strong> combines eclectic production from <strong>Hir-O</strong> and <strong>Blue Collar</strong> rhymes from <strong>Red Pill</strong>.  The project is available for streaming <a href="redpillandhir-o.bandcamp.com/album/the-kick" target="_blank"><strong>here</strong></a> and available to purchase <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-kick/id600605702" target="_blank"><strong>here</strong></a>.  This is definitely something you should check out &#8212; good from start to finish.</p>
