2017 is a wrap. A new president is in office, sports were played, new movies like Star Wars and Justice League came out, Cardi B ruled the year and you lived to see another New Year’s eve.

Congratulations!

For those who have not tried the Best Nine Craze yet: don’t miss out on all of the fun!

According to Thrillist’s Joe McGauley, to throw together your own personal “Best 9 of 2017” grid, you should visit, 2017BestNine.com on your phone.

Once there, you’ll plug in your Instagram handle. From there, the site will scan your feed to locate the nine most-liked posts from the year and arrange them in chronological order in a grid image.

According to published reports, the growth of Apple’s hardware business is slowing and Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook is looking to the company’s services business, such as the App Store and iCloud storage, as a way to generate increased revenue.

Apple has failed to successfully launch social-media services in the past, including an iTunes-focused social network called Ping in 2010. The company is said to be motivated by the fact that social apps generate the greatest level of engagement on the iPhone, Facebook users averaging 50 minutes a day, Snapchat users 30 minutes.  Bloomberg reports:

The goal behind the project’s development is to offer simple video editing with tools that appeal to the generation of users growing up with Snapchat and Instagram, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private.

Apple’s current plan calls for its project to become a stand-alone app, presumably as a download via the App Store, but the company may decide to package the functionality into the iPhone’s existing camera application, the people said.

Apple is starting to develop a video sharing app that allows users to record video, apply filters and drawings to the media — much like Snapchat does — and send it to contacts or via existing social networks such as Twitter Inc., according to the people familiar with its development. The software is currently being designed to be used mostly with one hand and with the intention that video could be shot, edited, and uploaded in less than 1 minute, the people said.

Apple has made preparation for this transition, introducing third-party animated sticker packs to iMessage as part of iOS 10.

For example, two friends could be able to see all text messages, e-mails, and social network interactions between each other in a single window, one of the people said.

A new Twitter beef is brewing

In true Kim Kardashian fashion she took to social media in the wee hours of the night or morning (depending on your location) and dropped a nude selfie in attempt to break the internet once again. The reality star released this photo on her social meida outlets with the caption “When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL.” In poured the retweets, praises and opines of many fans and celebrities on Kim’s naked selfie.

While many speculated if the photo was recent or not, and if she was merely flaunting her post baby body.  Kim did in fact take to Twitter to shed light on the photo. “Im flattered some of u guys thought my post earlier was a recent pic! That was my blonde moment a year ago & 25lbs less! #MondayMotivation”

Well a few celebrities weren’t pleased with Kim’s post and fired off shots via Twitter.  Bette Midler tweeted “Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today.  If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow that camera.”

Piers Morgan got in on the action and tweeted “I know the old man’s $50 million in debt, Kim-but this is absurd. Want me to buy you some clothes?”

Kim decided to enter the Twitter battlefield and personally addressed her haters who had something to say about her racy nude pics.  Sounding off and @ing them each, Kim started off her with “sorry I’m late to the party guys I was busy cashing my 80 million video game check & transferring 53 million into our joint account.”  Then she directly tweets Piers Morgan saying “hey @piersmorgan never offer to buy a married woman clothes. thats on some ashley madison type shit #forresearch.” Then onto Bette with “hey @BetteMidler I know it’s past your bedtime but if you’re still up and reading this send nudes #justkidding.” As she continued to let her Twitter fingers address a few more, Kim ended her rant with another nude photo with a hashtag that read “liberated.”

And this brings us back to honesty. It’s a broad term. Does the average listener today value an honest artist? True, transparent lyrics don’t necessarily come a dime a dozen. But when they do it is special. It’s crucial in fact, in the midst of illusion and hyper-fantasy that we hear often on the mainstream side.

With that comes New York emcee Danny Matos, here with the second leak off of his forthcoming ‘The Hangar EP’ (01/08). If you missed the RESPECT. Magazine premiere of his first “New Genre” release, you should probably do that now. Rusty Mack, handling the production on the entire EP, provides  incredible canvases for Danny to work on. Their chemistry is undeniable and the whole project was recorded together – yet another commendable note.

“I’m being open and holding a mirror to myself with this project..”
