What a great day it’s been for Hip-Hop. We’ve heard some interesting bars between reigning queen emcee Nicki Minaj and (her number one contender) Remy Ma for some time now, but the beef has officially spilled over into the mainstream in the best way possible.

Above lies a new track from Remy titled “ShETHER”, which — as you might’ve guessed — sees the Terror Squad alum sending bombs in Nicki’s direction over the classic Nas/Ron Browz instrumental. Here’s a couple of choice excerpts:

He couldn’t fuck you for three months because your ass dropped
Now I don’t think y’all understand how bad her ass got
The implants that she had put in her ass popped

…and this goes on for about 7 minutes. The speculation is that Remy is simply responding to Nicki’s verse on her latest collaboration with Gucci Mane (titled “Make Love“), which sees Nicki sending shots at someone who doesn’t compare to her success album sales-wise…she seems to confirm this with her “ShETHER” response, which can be seen below [UPDATE: She’s since deleted her post]:

She isn’t the only one who’s responded to Remy’s track, either: artists mentioned on the track, fellow peers and fans in general have been supplying some of the most hilarious tweets, grams and memes this side of 2017. Laura Stylez is the ma’aam on Hot 97’s Ebro in The Morning Show.

Stylez moved from LA to New York at 19. Like many starving artists looking to claim their own territory, she didn’t have her family’s full cosign at first. In spite of all of that, she kept trucking.Stylez went to school and interned at radio stations to earn her keep. “It goes to show you that you have to claim your destiny sometimes and believe in yourself,” Stylez told me on the Scoop B Radio podcast.

Her big big break came when Stylez became an online digital producer at Hot 97 in 2013. She hosted live streams and assisted former Hot 97 personality, Angie Martinez, who recently celebrated a birthday. “She’s truly been a mentor to me,” said Stylez. “Took me in and really just believed in me.”

In between filling in for Ebro, Cipha Sounds and others, Stylez ended up being a mainstay and here she is now fulfilling her dream. “ I’m thankful every day,” she said.

French Montana was all the way up last night (Thursday, August 11) at his release party for his upcoming album MC4.

Partnering up with HOT 97 and Hornblower Cruises and Events, French welcomed his listeners aboard the Hornblower Infinity yacht. I got to the event at around 8:30 PM, and everyone was dressed up walking toward the yacht that was lit up. French definitely had everyone sailing in style on the three-floor boat. I felt like I was on a cruise ship sailing away for a whole week.

Inside, there was a HOT 97 backdrop for fans to take photos, several bars on the first and second floors, and of course a dance floor with DJ Kast One getting everybody doin’ the milly rock. French pulled up in all white and immediately took to his Snapchat to document his celebration.

It was a huge party with everyone having one or two… or three drinks dancing on the floor. You can see French pouring Ciroc into his cup with his crew who came to support. Other rappers who were in attendance were Canadian artist, Belly, and Brooklyn’s own, Desiigner.

With a perfect view of Manhattan’s skyline, the Infinity set sail on the Hudson River with nothing but hip-hop aboard. HOT 97’s morning hosts, Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez hyped the crowd up celebrating the night dedicated French’s upcoming album MC4. Desiigner came onstage for a surprise performance of his hits “Panda,” and “Timmy Turner.” French later joined him performing some of his past and current tracks such as his remix to Bobby Shurmda‘s “Hot N**a,” “Pop That,” the Drake-assisted “No Shopping,” and the current New York anthem with Remy Ma & Fat Joe, “All The Way Up.”

MC4 will have features from Nas, Kanye West, Miguel, and Chinx, who was fatally shot in May 2015. The fourth installment of French’s ‘Mac & Cheese’ series is set to be released August 19.

Drake’s “ Summer Sixteen” tour stopped by at Madison Square Garden in NYC Thursday night as day one of his four-night performance. Minutes into his performance he provided the audience with a little freestyle. He decided to use this freestyle to slam NYC’s radio station  Hot 97 and DJ Funk Flex. It was no secret that Drake and Funk Flex had some issues in the past. Last November, Flex was filmed saying “F**k that Canadian nigga!” while playing Meek’s “Dreams & Nightmares” along with other incidents that led to their current beef.  A few days go, Hot 97’s  host Ebro Darden claimed on the radio station’s morning show that he heard the rumor that Eminem was ready to “come after him [Drake].” Ebro then said that Drake just laughed it off and said it wasn’t “gonna happen,” but if it did Drake got “something” for him. Drake freestyles that Hot 97 tells lies about him and that he’ll do their show if they fire Funk Flex. Not only does he clap back at the station but he reveals working with Kanye at the studio. Watch the freestyle performance below that has social media talking.

Right after the diss, Flex responded on Twitter where he received over two thousand retweets. What’s this story he has to tell? Fans better grab their popcorn and tune in tomorrow at 7pm on Hot 97 as the beef continues.
