It looks like OVO is making its return. Toronto R&B duo DVSN, comprised of Daniel Daley and Nineteen85, treated fans to two new singles today: “Miss Me?” and “In Between.” The group teased music during their set at Coachella 2019 earlier this year, including a collaboration with West Coast artist Ty Dolla $ign.

In a statement, DVSN broke down the “In Between,” saying it “speaks for the grey area between two people who still haven’t figured out the best ways to communicate their feelings.” Elsewhere, they commented on the tracks counterpart: “We all have that one person we can’t get off our mind, but we get scared to ask if they feel the same way. This song helps with that hard to ask question.”

“Miss Me?” and “In Between” arrive nearly two years after their sophomore album, Morning After. The 13-track project offered a glimpse of the soulful and glistering sounds heard throughout their debut album. Last year, the duo joined Miguel for his North America tour for Ascension. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear a full-length project from the group later this year.

The roads were wide open as Miguel, singer and song writer from California, prepared his North American travels. The success of his album, War & Leisure, had landed the “Sky Walker” singer on a sold-out tour back in the spring and he’s doing it all over again this summer. Once again, Miguel has invited us to “Come Through and Chill” for The Ascension Tour.

Toronto native and OVO Sound artist, DVSN is a special guest through the tour. DVSN is a mysterious R&B act that has created a consistent buzz over the past year. The duo, yes, more than 1 person, includes Nineteen85 and lead vocalist, Daniel Daley. Daniel took the stage to start the night off. An extremely impressive singing voice echoed throughout the theatre. It was one of the most genuine voices in music today. He would sing hits that fans sang along to and also, songs belonging to other artists. Usher’s “You Got It Bad,” and Beyoncé’s verse on “Until The End of Time” were a few songs he would perform.

Screaming women packed the room and awaited the moment they came for. The lights dimmed and at last, it was time for Miguel’s return to Connecticut. Similar to the War & Leisure Tour, Miguel started the night with “Criminal,” the first song on the album. A bright visual display lit the stage and his loyal live band performed by his side. A nice touch to the tour this time around was the 4 back up dancers that joined him on stage. 

The sexual and also soulful music of Miguel’s is something that R&B music has been lacking for some time now. All vocals and extreme skill define who Miguel is. No special effects or auto-tune are used to alter his voice when making his records. In this generation of musicians, it’s something that should be appreciated. Many times Miguel has been tested. He continues to prove himself and excel as an elite artist in music. If you get a chance to see Miguel in concert, don’t pass up the opportunity.

California singer and song writer, Miguel is hitting the road once again to bring fans the Ascension Tour. The continued success of Miguel’s latest project, War & Leisure, means he will continue to showcase his craft to fans all across North America.

The War & Leisure tour featured Top Dawg Entertainment’s, SiR, and Miguel’s blood brother, Nonchalant Savant. Savant will make his return for the Ascension Tour this summer. Also added is Toronto R&B duo, DVSN. After wrapping up the War & Leisure trek in April, the latest slate of 26 dates kicks off late summer with an August 23rd show in Boston and works its way westward before ceasing September 28th in Seattle.

Miguel is one of the most genuine, soothing voices you can hear live in concert and puts on a show to remember every time he touches the stage. Hitting what seems like much bigger venues this time around leaves us to believe he will have more special effects and more unforgettable moments this time around.

The tour will begin January 21st in Vancouver. From there, it’ll stretch across North America touching major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and more. They’ll pick back up the tour early March running thru London, Paris, and Amsterdam just to name a few additional European stops.
