The contemporary R&B singer, songwriter and producer is set to release the 5th installation of the “Annie R U O’Tay” series. Fans looking forward to the ratchet-soul, are going to have to wait until early December for it to drop.

 E-40, 2 Chainz, YG, DJ Mustard, Nipsey Hussle, Chris Brown, Skeme, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik and Dom Kennedy have all jumped on one or two projects with the R&B Singer, as a result TeeFlii has become a staple in the hip-hop mainstream circuit and a recognized name.

Compton OG and hip-hop legend DJ Quik takes us on a wild ride in the latest release from his album, The Midnight Life, with “Puffin The Dragon.” The trippy yet chill video follows Quik on a quick ride through the desert in his old school Caddy as he drops fluid flows and industry game as only an OG can do. DJ Quik is more than just a hip-hop artist. He’s a musician – Quik, real name David Blake, is credited as follows on his latest LP, The Book of David: Drum Machine, Drums, Editing, Engineer, Executive Producer, Keyboards, Mixing, Operation, Pro-Tools, Producer, Programming, Sequencing.

Quik is also a music aficionado. He’s sampled some diverse material over the course of eight studio albums, dating back to 1991: from Angela Bofill to John Travolta and Jim Jacobs on The Book of David alone.

No one ever said this hip-hop business was easy, even for so-called “legends.” West Coast rapper, producer and musician DJ Quik has been a staple in the industry since the early 90’s when his breakout album, Quik Is the Name, went platinum and he signed a major record deal with Priority.

So it’s to our bewilderment that Brooklyn concert organizers cannot even spell Quik’s name properly on their setlist when they paid him to headline the show. Talk about a bunch of amateurs.

And not to name names or anything, but the venue in question has “sewed” up a number of veteran rap stars to perform at their club this year. So there’s no excuse for any accidental slips of the pen. Chalk it up as inexperience.

Show DJ Quik a little respect, East Coasters.
