Since we’re talking about joint projects, lets talk about HoodStock Records’ Nemo Achida and DesignerFlow. The two Kentucky wordsmiths — Nemo from Lexington and DesignerFlow from Louisville — have linked up musically on many occasions, but this time around the two are gearing up to give us their 7-track EP titled SixPieceSpicy.

With what is the first of multiple upcoming visual releases, the duo liberates “You’re Welcome”, a clip that is centered mostly around DesignerFlow — who also directed this one– as he delivers semi-hype wordplay over rather chill production.

In a recently received email, Kentucky was satirically described as only being known to the world for college hoops (Kentucky Wildcats), The Kentucky Derby, The First 48 and red-hot R&B newcomer Bryson Tiller, who calls Louisville, Kentucky home. However, Nemo Achida and his Hoodstock Records family are aiming to change that and show people a different side of The Bluegrass State; and Hoodstock Radio is exactly how they plan to achieve such a task.

With a similar feel to Kanye West’s ever popular (but lately, pretty damn inconsistent) G.O.O.D. Fridays music series, Hoodstock Radio will feature all new music, dropping on a weekly basis and showcasing Hoodstock artists Nemo, DesignerFlow and Pinky Liberachi, who is fresh off the release of his latest project, The Love Pink EP, which saw a fair deal of success, and is still very much in the rotation of many listeners.

First up from the camp is “Make Things Right”, which is a groovy new record that flawlessly meshes the very different and distinct styles of Nemo Achida, DesignerFlow, and Pinky Liberachi. Fans of the late, great Big Pun might appreciate this one, as Nemo opens up the record with “I had to flip that white/To save my life”, sung in the same highly familiar cadence as Pun’s classic record, “It’s So Hard“.

In 2014, Lexington, Kentucky’s J. Cannon released his debut project, Street Art, and since then he has been building quite a name for himself.

Up next for Cannon is his Santana Services EP, and providing listeners with a glimpse of what to expect, he gives us the video for “Jackie Chan”.

Joined by DesignerFlow, J. Cannon laces the BC Photography-directed clip with potent lyrics and plenty of kick it. Peep it above, and be on the lookout for not only Santana Services, but also his follow-up LP, The Blackest of Magic.

As we await their forthcoming joint release, Shoebox Money, Kentucky duo DesignerFlow and Jeffrey Bankroll give us the third visual from the project, with “Free Blacc”. Life is a gamble; and nobody knows that better than Louisville duo DesignerFlow and Jeffrey Bankroll, who are preparing to drop their joint project, Shoebox Money, later this month.

Inspired by Cam’ron’s film, Killa Season, Flow and Bankroll give us their new visual for “Style Thieves”. This comes just a week after they dropped a video for “Long Night”, which will also be featured on Shoebox Money.

Just like anywhere else in America, Louisville has an underworld that’s not hard to get wrapped up in, if you’re seeking a better life, but your options are limited. Chronicling just that, Flow and Bankroll team up for the Montreux-produced “Long Night”, with the accompanying visual being directed by Flow and shot by BC Photography. 

DesignerFlow and Jeffrey Bankroll are set to drop their new project, Shoebox Money, next month and “Long Night” can be found on it. Peep the clip.
