Nowadays in Hip-Hop, it could be hard to find music that has substance. The reason isn’t because it doesn’t exist, because artists like Smino, Marco Mckinnis, J.I.D., Trippie Redd and more make very personal music. The reason is because the general public pushes most of those releases to the side for the energetic, bouncy trap-sounding music that dominates our mainstream airwaves. Another one of those guys that makes everlasting music is North Las Vegas native, DemarcoTheMan, who checks in with his brand new album, Blandboy.

Set to the tone of a somber, yet refreshingly sober tone, Blandboy sees Demarco take a GIANT leap forward, musically. While he’s always had a knack for keen lyricism & cadences, past works from Demarco could get tedious and drawn out with the type of stories he was trying to tell.

Not with this one.

Leveling his whole sound up, Demarco finally found the formula of blending his top-tier lyrical ability, with an open-mind creativity that made for some solid individual tracks, but an overall great project. The album fits so seamlessly together that at times, you don’t even know it’s a new song. The best way to describe, BlandBoy is that it’s strikingly similar to getting caught up in a movie, really enjoying it and then not really being able to explain why, & let’s be honest… Those are the best movies.

Las Vegas is scorching hot, plain and simple. With names like Richie Bux, Kiari The Stone, Le$LaFlame and more grasping the torch from Dizzy Wright’s hands, it’s only a matter of time before the diamonds in the rough start slipping through the cracks.

Enter in: DemarcoTheMan.

Checking into the magazine for the first time — which is honestly blasphemy and should be a blemish on my part — Demarco unleashes his fierce new single, “Wax.” To keep it simple, “Wax” is a 4-minute, state-of-the-union like track that addresses many of Demarco’s issues with the rap community, both locally and nationally. With a high pitched tone that some may liken to Kendrick Lamar, Demarco also showcases an ability to seamless switch cadences to perfectly fit in between each note. His attention to detail when It comes to wasting no space or  beat-break is what is quickly establishing the Sin City native as one to watch.
