Travel to Hip-Hop’s underground with Rite Hook and Chris Rivers in their new video for “The Motions,” their fiery collaboration off Leedz Edutainment’s recently released compilation, Eastern Standard.

Boston (Hook) meets the Bronx (Rivers) in these visuals from Myster DL, of Ill Mannered Films and Photography, whose direction gets to the root of what “The Motions” is all about. Lyrically, it’s a snarling middle-finger to anyone trying to bring you down and keep you beneath where you deserve to be in life. It’s fitting, then, that DL plays with the lighting and incorporates visual trickery (the kaleidoscope effect) to capture that same vibe in this video.

As you’ll see in the clip, both emcees travel in and out of the light as they deliver their often-personal rhymes over The Arcitype’s production, which bumps, rattles, and swings beneath the surface. Hip-Hop heads looking for that raw will certainly have a new favorite track in “The Motions,” which happens to be one of many standout cuts on Eastern Standard. If you consider yourself a fan of the culture, you better not be snoozing on this compilation that also boasts Michael Christmas, Ransom, Slaine, Chris Orrick, STL GLD, Spose, K.A.A.N., and many others.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from them, but the much-heralded duo of Pacewon and Mr. Green are back at it with “Massacre,” a bruising new single featuring Bronx spitter Chris Rivers (Big Pun’s son).

After dropping two acclaimed releases—2008’s The Only Color That Matters is Green and 2012’s The Only Number That Matters is Won—the New Jersey-hailing emcee and producer are back together and sounding as good as ever. And they couldn’t have picked a better title for their new track than “Massacre,” because it’s a well-placed punch to the throat of any wack artists listening to it.

Pacewon leads the charge over the slapping production from Mr. Green, who blends and manipulates layers of samples on top of one another. It’s a fitting setting for his tag-team partner, who raps about choking trash rappers and hanging them from his rear-view. The same goes for Rivers, who bodies the beat with references to Super Smash Bros. and King Arthur in addition to a variety of flows.

What “Massacre” boils down to is a raw Hip-Hop showcase, with Pace and Green demonstrating that their chemistry is alive and well. The track itself, which stems from Breach’s new Matter of Fact album, is a pure and raw display of technical prowess. The rapper and his guest, NYC spitter Chris Rivers, rip apart the Makemdef instrumental with crazy internal rhymes and wordplay. Both of those qualities made their way into Breach’s track-closing verse, which boasts rhymes that may have served as the inspiration for the Gusto Gold Productions video: “Me and Rivers will breach anybody that come/ This ain’t a hobby, we’ll body anybody for fun.”

Now, that’s not to say the two didn’t have a reason to assault the guy in this video—again, dude was disrespectful to the waitstaff—but he also probably didn’t know what he was getting into. Gusto Gold Productions run with the concept of Breach and Rivers being lyrical (and literal) bruisers, and it falls in line with equally fresh visuals they’ve done for Meyhem Lauren and Mr. MFN eXquire.

Two of the Bronx’s finest head out West in the cinematic new visuals for “Homicide Fetish,” a bullying banger from Colorado-based rapper Saint Joe and his guests, Chris Rivers and Chino XL.

With Collective Cultures’ Jeremy Pape behind the lens, he plays host to an old-school cypher filled with wicked wordplay and blistering rhymes from all three vocalists. Shot in the streets of NYC to the mountains of Colorado, it’s worth noting that the homicide they’re committing here is clearly that of murdering mics, as the trifecta of emcees tear apart the monstrous instrumental from Norway’s, GVME OVER.

“Homicide Fetish” stems from Saint Joe’s upcoming new album, Thinning Out the Heard, which is due out August 5th, through Joe’s own imprint, K.R.A.K. Productions, LLC. The LP will and will be available through all major digital retailers. In addition to Rivers and XL, The LP boasts a number of notable guest features from the likes of Dirtbag Dan, Reef the Lost Cauze, Cortez, Freck Billionaire, Spoke In Wordz, Morning Star, and more. Producers tapped include Charlie Brown, Dialectic, Jomeezius the Genius, Vic Jones, and Yon-P Beats among others.
