UPDATE: Slowly but surely, the line-up for the inaugural Fire In The Park Festival is taking shape. Thus far, we now know that Da Beatfreakz (with special guests), D Block Europe, Nafe Smallz, Polo G, Sneakbo, STARDOM, Unknown T, Yungen and Yxng Bane are confirmed…there will also be a live rendition of Charlie Sloth’s Fire In The Booth freestyle series. More info coming soon.

Charlie Sloth continues to make power moves: following his moving on to Apple Music from BBC, the world-class DJ/producer has now announced that he’ll be throwing his own festival alongside GRM Daily this Fall.

Titled the Fire In The Park, Sloth’s big event will take place in Sheffield’s Ponderosa Park September 28th; tickets go live May 30th (pre-sale) and 31st (general sale). In the meantime, you can stay up-to-date on everything via the festival’s official website.

Courtesy of his work over at BBC 1Xtra (as well as his Hood Heat mixtape series), North West Londoner Charlie Sloth has been supplying dope music to the masses for a while now. His next move forward sees him following in the footsteps of other DJ peers like Khaled and Drama — this weekend, Sloth delivered his debut album The Plug, which contains a whopping 22 tracks and features from artists on both sides of the pond.

Led by the singles/visuals for “#FameGame,” “Walk Away,” “Running,” “Wake Up” and — most recently — “What I Can Do,” The Plug also sees appearances from Giggs, WSTRN, Ghetts, Donae’O, 21 Savage, Ace Hood, Bugzy Malone, JMC, Stormzy, Jadakiss, Lady Leshurr, Sean Kingston, Mic Righteous and loads more, all backed by Sloth’s genre-bending production.

Much like the breakout DJ’s that could be considered peers (ie. DJ Khaled, DJ Mustard), London’s Charlie Sloth is definitely more than a turntablist — the Camden representer has rooted himself into just about every facet of music, entertainment and media (also, this). Following some dope mixtapes (including his Hood Heat series), Sloth is ready to deliver his debut album, titled The Plug.

Here’s what makes this release interesting: The Plug contains a whopping 22 tracks, but — as the below tracklist seems to reveal — there are only three emcees featured on a couple of songs. Longtime fans of Sloth should remember his abilities as a rapper, so there’s a chance we may be getting a return of that…it’s also understood that the popular BBC presenter produced the entire album.

Until all of that is disclosed, you can enjoy a celebratory, tropic-themed visual for the single “#FameGame,” which is highlighted by an appearance from Manchester’s Bugzy Malone. The Plug drops August 18th and can be pre-ordered via iTunes.
