Young Thug – Hear No Evil

So, we thought that we wouldn’t hear any music from Young Thug this year, as he previously stated he would go silent in honor of his deaf brother. Now, he bestows that same honor by dropping off the three-song EP Hear No Evil, which sees additional appearances from Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage and Lil Uzi Vert (production comes courtesy of Southside, Rex Kudo, DJ Spinz and Charlie Handsome).

Tinashe – Joyride

This album is a long-time coming.

In a perfect world, Tinashe‘s sophomore third album would have come out years ago. Four years after the release of her debut Aquarius (and three years after it was announced), Tinashe finally liberates her official sophomore LP Joyride. The project is led by the singles “No Drama,” “Me So Bad” and “Faded Love,” with additional appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana, Offset, Future and Little Dragon.

Carnage – Battered Bruised & Bloody

Guatemala-to-L.A. producer Carnage spent last year dropping some dope collab projects with the likes of Young Thug and G-Eazy (along other notable connections). Now, he brings forth his new album Battered Bruised & Bloody, his official follow-up to 2015’s Papi Gordo. This go-round, the EDM super DJ seems to dive further into the Hip-Hop realm, working with artists like Lil Pump, Deko, Mac Miller, MadeInTYO, Lil B, Young Troy, Migos, Nessly and more. ‘Turn up’ Summer music.

Smokepurpp & Murda Beatz – Bless Yo Trap

For his latest, Floridian emcee Smokepurpp connects with Hip-hop super-producer Murda Beatz for a 10-track project titled Bless Yo Trap. The hard-hitting release also sees appearances from A$AP Ferg, Lil Yachty and Offset (no Lil Pump?).

Young Thug and DJ Carnage‘s semi-surprising collaborative effort has been one of the more anticipated releases since their shockingly-awesome “Homie” with Meek Mill (not to mention, “Liger”). Now, the two stars deliver Young Martha, a 4-track EP that also sees an appearance from Shakka (“Don’t Call Me”). The project is also an amazing standout given that 1.) it’s not even 20 minutes worth of music and 2.) it was released alongside new albums from Jhené Aiko, G Herbo, Kevin Gates, Rapsody and Macklemore.

This is a must listen; check it out for yourself below. There’s plenty more from these two as well; Thugger and Carnage also recently dropped Beautiful Thugger Girls and the G-Eazy-assisted Step Brothers, respectively.

I’m become pretty convinced that DJ Carnage is a rapper whisperer of sorts following his collaboration with Lil Yachty (and even the very dope G-Eazy), and he continues to prove this ability with his latest.

Carnage has teamed up with Atlanta emcee Young Thug to create Young Martha, and here lies a visual for their new collaboration “Homie” — which also features assistance from Philly spitter Meek Mill. Not only do the lyricists go their hardest over Carnage’s ever-changing production, the video that accompanies the song might be the best we’ve seen this year — the clip continues to rotate around a room (which Carnage, Thugger and Meek make appearances in in varying modes of gravity) depicting a gruesome murder in effect, of which two young girls seem to take part in. You really have to just watch it to understand.

Fans of super DJ Carnage knew that he was cooking up a project with Bay Area star G-Eazy for some time now; this week, the two artists officially announced their forthcoming EP to be titled Step Brothers (somewhere, The Alchemist, Evidence, Starlito and Don Trip are side-eyeing this revelation).

Speaking to Complex, G-Eazy spoke on how the project came together:

We did it in two nights… We’ve literally known each other forever and we both worked our asses off for years to come up and make it to this point. We’ve both always had that same level of ambition, even when we were unknown. That’s my brother for life, so we’ll probably keep working together for the rest of our careers.

Before that project is released, fans get to check out a new visual from the collaborators for “Guala,” which features Thirty Rack and sees the artists in full-on bobble head mode. The cold, minimalistic production matches the simple, fun lyrics as well:

I’m livin’ like it’s no tomorrow
