Many of us are familiar with Bill Nye the Science Guy, and were thrilled to hear that he had a new show coming to Netflix called Bill Nye Saves the World. When the first episode of the show premiered April 21st, we were once again learning from the iconic figure, but not alone — rapper Desiigner got schooled on climate change right along with us.

As spotted on Hot New Hip-Hop, a clip from the show exhibits that there are a lot of beloved items that can disappear along with the health of the world — things like chocolate, sushi, coffee, and panda friends. In the clip, we can see Desiigner learning this as those items disappear before him with a helpful explanation provided by Karlie Kloss. The video is humorous and informative, and leaves us with the impression that if we don’t help control global warming and climate change, we may be stuck with only black jelly beans for a questionable comfort food.

Bill Nye Saves the World is now available on Netflix, and the video with Desiigner and Kloss is posted below.

Those who were raised in the nineties, I have a sweet and scientific surprise for you! Remember being in science class and your teacher pulled out the huge box TV on a rolling cart. We all knew what was in store for us, Bill Nye The Science Guy!  *Breaks out in theme song*

After being off air for twenty years, yeah I said it, twenty years, our beloved Bill Nye is back in action in a more relevant form than VHS. He will have his own Netflix original series. The show is called Bill Nye Saves the World and it is supposed to be premiering in mid 2017.

Those who enjoy the occasional ‘nerding out’, as well as the occasional ‘Netflix and chill’ will be able to have the best of both worlds. Though everyone can appreciate the nostalgia of seeing an old face, the content on the show actually seems pretty attention grabbing. Continually relevant topics including climate change, as well as new age concerns such as genetically modified foods (GMOs) will all be discussed on the show. The limit of relevant topics simply does not exist, especially in this day and age where we are aware of any and everything around us.

Another thing that makes this show and our science guy even better is that he is an actual scientist and not just an actor. His care and concern of scientific awareness is real. He told Netflix,

“Since the start of the Science Guy show I have been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamentals of science”.

Well Bill, I may not have become a scientist, but I’m more than eager to watch you explain all your knowledge to the public, even after you were on Dancing With The Stars. I don’t judge!
