<p><strong><br />
1. How long have you been doing what you&#8217;re doing and how did you get started in the first place?</strong></p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div id="v1replybody1">
<div dir="ltr">
<div>
<div dir="ltr">
<div>&#8220;This is <strong>Noah Archangel</strong>, producer and leader of the, <strong>Band of the Hawk</strong>. I been flipping beats and tapes since like 99&#8242;.  First began to emcee at the warehouse parties after hours; then once I needed beats to rap on, started making beats on a playstation, then a sp-202, then a ASR to the  MPC.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>2. Who were the first influences on your music and style?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Production wise, <strong>Rza</strong> influenced me the most with his dark unorthodox sound, but still raw Hip-Hop. Then <strong>Roni Size</strong> and <strong>Tricky</strong> in England, cuz they was doing Trip-Hop and drum and bass joints.  When it comes to rapping, my style is like <strong>Ghostface Killah</strong> and <strong>Busta Rhymes</strong>.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>3. In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;<strong>Wu-Tang Clan</strong>, because they just went on a 25 year anniversary World tour, and all the solo members are still active.  They showed everyone how to do the clothing game and check your paperwork with labels; and got a new recurring series on Hulu.  Many would argue <strong>Jay-Z</strong>, but even Jay bit off Wu when he did <strong>Rocawear</strong>.  <strong>Wu-Wear</strong> was the first clothing brand created and sold by the group it was inspired by. That&#8217;s POWER.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>4. Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Speaking from a producer and rapper position, I pick both. The Beats are dope, no doubt, but the lyrics is like the icing to the cake B. However, if you take those raps and put em on another style, they&#8217;d be hard to matchup, because all are verses are recorded organically to the beat in the studio.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>5. Do you write your own lyrics? If yes, what do you think about artists who use ghost writers?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Right and Exact, all beats and raps are done by us. Look, ghostwriting has been apart of the game since 77, but check it out, you can&#8217;t be a GOAT with anyone&#8217;s pen attached to your name. FACTS.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>6. If you could choose to work with some of today&#8217;s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Producer wise, RZA, Alchemist, Madlib, Just Blaze</div>
<div>Rappers: Jay Electronica, Roc Marciano, Griselda&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>7. Which latest songs, videos or mixtapes releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Everything we release, videos, music, clothing, comic books, are all on our website, <a href="http://bandofthehawk.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BANDOFTHEHAWK.COM</a>.</div>
<div></div>
<div>All videos are also available on our Youtube channel, BandoftheHawkTV. Make sure to go subscribe and don&#8217;t miss out.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>8. Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;The hiss and dusty sound from MPC, ASR or SP1200. I gotta feel that straight from the cassette sound with it, like it was mixed for streets not the radio.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>9. Which emotion more than any other, currently dominates your music? Joy, sadness, anger or passion etc. , and why?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Passion, because this is a labor of love. Yea we make money, but we do this because we love the art and respect our peers. Making money is dope no question, but getting the nod or that thumbs up from a legend or fellow artist is the prize.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>10. What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;There is nothing like putting together a song. Creation is the closest thing one can do to feel like GOD. The only bad thing about the music is the industry.  Knowing that I have to deal with all these submissions and emails and asshole managers gets me every time.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>11. How involved are you in the recording, producing, mastering, marketing, and other processes needed to make and sell your music, and do you outsource any part of these processes?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Again, every single thing is done in the Hawk&#8217;s Nest in <strong>Houston,TX</strong>.  We make the beats, write the raps, record, mix, master, press the T-shirts, ship the merchandise.  The only thing we cannot do ourselves is press the vinyl records. We do our own CD&#8217;s, Cassettes and USB Drives though.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>12. Do you think the advent of internet and all the new technology has helped your music and independent musicians in general, or do you think it just creates a mass of mediocre &#8220;copycats&#8221; who flood the web, making it difficult to distinguish yourself?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Boffum&#8221;. At the end of the day, without the internet most of our fans would have no clue. However any cat with a phone and a laptop can make music and put it out, so there is a lot of trash out there, choose wisely.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>13. What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself, has to face and overcome, to gain any commercial success?</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Everyone knows without a ton of dough, connections or negative content, getting that type of success is nearly impossible. I have no doubt in my mind, if we rapped about trash like these radio rappers, we would blow. Again, we do this for the love not the money, so your welcome.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>14. In closing, tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or are already working on as well as where people can find your music.</strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8220;Due to all this quarantine, we will have a project dropping every month till Fall.  Next up we got some more Beat Tapes, another compilation from myself, 2 more projects from <strong>Yeaux Majesty</strong> and then a full on Hawks record.  This new Band of the Hawk record will have the full lineup featured and some guests from NYC. Stay tuned and #BOHUP.</div>
