St.Louis native, Kasey Alease is an upcoming independent artist who has created a name for herself in Atlanta.

With her versatile and unique style, her lyrics created a fun vibe. She released the visuals to her most recent song, “Duh.” In the beginning scene, you feel her bossy, bold and fun aura through the screen. She leans on a purple car that happens to match her fly. Although she is alone throughout the visual she embraces her courageous attitude. This multi talented creative uses many sources of inspiration to come up with her video treatment. Her family, music journey, the positive feedback from her listeners and her motivation to get to the next pinnacle play a heavy influence in her music. She also shows her fun and flirty side through the video too, as she raps on the car she remind us that regardless of what is going on she will always handles her business.

“Duh” generates a enticing and empowering vibe that is timeless, and everyone can relate. It is a confident record that is made to help remind us of how great we are. The energy is fun yet confident at the same time. Kasey Alease is letting it be known that she knows she is the sh*t and she is not afraid to show or say it!

Check out “Duh” Here:

Like the infamous Pablo Escobar who embodied the trap & the people,’ Atlanta native, Jo$e Rivera, has continuously blossomed and overcame many obstacles that have contributed to his growth as an creative artist. Instead of folding under pressure, he used his failures and disappointments to grow as an creative artist. Jo$e uses his life story as a motivational tool to inspire his music. He strives to be very transparent and authentic in everything he does. The Panamanian decent artist enjoys using music as a outlet to express himself and be relate to his supporters and peers. He began making music to share and uniquely tell his stories and reflect on previous situations that he has overcome. Through this, Jo$e Rivera, has perfected a strong yet unique voice, with the ability to create a vibe through his lyrics. His supporters appreciated this use of creative lyricism. The positive feedback from his last project, encouraged him to take it up a notch by creating catchy cleverly-written bars. When he composed a third mix-tape, entitled, Becoming Legendary; this project showed his growth and commitment as a independent artist on the rise.

Jo$e Rivera, is working on his fourth project and follow-up tape titled, “Becoming Legendary II – Dreams Never Die”. The forthcoming tape tells an intriguing story on how to chase your dreams no matter what life throws at you. Rivera has been able to collaborate with Mickey Factz, Curtis Williams – Two9, Jace – Two9, Euro Gotit and Kur on the project. He briefly explains what his creative process entails;

“My creative process was the TV on mute with a movie and something to sip on and listening to the beat for about 30 mins and then I wrote my verse. The real message is people think like this all the time. What we have to do as men is control our emotions but if things escalate to were we have to use this type of force then you have to be ready. I want my listeners to know that I am a confident rapper who isn’t afraid to address any issue whether is positive or negative. I also want my listeners to know that I dedicate myself in perfecting the best verse on every record I record.”

Atlanta-based record label Quality Control is continuing to push the agenda of their forthcoming compilation album ‘Quality Control: Control The Streets Volume 2.’ Last week, we got a sneak peek of the project with their pair or pre-release singles: “Baby” and “Come On.” Today, ATL rapper Marlo drops the visuals for “Soakin Wet” featuring labelmates Offset and City Girls.

The OG Parker and Hitmaka-produced track release back in May. “Soakin Wet” is a sexually explicit track, referencing the woman’s vagina, hence the title. “Marlo’s been in development with QC these past two years and this summer is when people will really see his incredible talent,” Pee, CEO of QC, says in their latest press release.

Last week, V-103’s DJ Kash and DJ Theory hosted a listening party for rising R&B artist Apollo at Atlanta’s SoundProof Studios. A collection of 5 songs, all co-written by Apollo, the project showcases his unique brand of timeless and ageless music, or “Space Music,” as he likes to call it.

Apollo’s summer has been quite busy. It began with the release of his first single Tic Toc, which was produced by Cassius Jay. An admitted Lil Romeo and Lil Bow Wow fan while growing up, Tic Toc puts a modern twist on an old-school summer love song vibe. Additionally, it examines both sides of a hot and cold relationship between Apollo and a would be love interest. “I see myself performing in different countries,” Appollo told RESPECT MAG. “Putting out more great music, and continuing to build my brand.”

Fresh off the release of his most recent mixtape ’88, Nick Grant comes through with new visuals for his outstanding track “The Plan”. The video places Nick Grant in the position of planning and executing a dangerous heist. Surrounded by a squad of sultry female criminals, Nick successfully escapes with a shipment of classic vinyl records (Big L, Wu-Tang, etc.) but not before tying up a few loose ends. This video couldn’t be a better metaphor for Nick Grant himself. Nick is proving to be a classic vinyl record among a sea of MP3s. Through his incorporation of golden age mentality, flow, ideals and style, Nick Grant has once again separated himself from his peers in a special way.

The video itself was directed by Spike Jordan who is known for his previous work with Future, ASAP Ferg and up and comer Lil Uzi Vert. We caught up with Nick to get his take on working with Spike Jordan.

Nick Grant: “”The Plan” was directed by the great Spike Jordan, which was a collaboration of our ideas. I had the idea in my head to shoot this video that had a Dead President’s-type storyline, but not robbing people, I’m a hip hop dude. The classic albums at the end are symbolic to me taking the game back. Finding all these dope albums like they’ve been hidden for so long, like ‘where have they been?’ People weren’t making albums like this so I’m stealing the game back and bringing real music back to the forefront for the people.”

Nick has new music on the way, and while we’re not quite sure when that will be, we’re excited to see the wave continue. Hit up @nickgrantmusic for more information.

CeeLo Green is reintroducing the art, using his creative talents to mix nothing less than colourful sounds. Matchless vocals and authenticity make up “Heart Blanche;” a musical collection that steers an insightful journey.

Combined with feel good vibes and storytelling anthems, the uplifting beats add flavour, bringing music to our soul. In fact, this new image is just the beginning as the ATL representative reminds us:

“I’m content with the album but I’m not complacent with the album. I can do more and I want to do more. I want to first be reintroduced, and I want the people to be reminded of who I am in an artistic capacity, and they will see my generosity.”

With “Church In These Streets” already on the horizon, what better way to showcase the work-in-progress, than through a lyrical freestyle. Making up part of the Sunday Service collection, this production takes us into a mix of scenarios from start to finish.

The sound brings nothing less than real as Jeezy stays in line with a concrete flow, adding a sense of reality to his verses. We doubt you needed a reminder that the trapper has a story to tell, but Nov. 13th holds exactly that.

Falling ahead of a tour and upcoming joints, this is merely a taste of what is to come, as we anticipate a classic project in the nearby future.

For now, step into the world of Jeezy as he voices his thoughts ATL style. Take a listen above.
