With Las Vegas being such a transient town, it’s no wonder why everybody thinks the city is one big episode of Zack & Cody. Although it would be beyond dope to live in a hotel, Vegas has a small, but thriving community. With such a small margin for error or inconsistency in the city, artists often crack under the pressure of following up a song that broke through nationally.

Not these guys.

After setting the table with last month’s release of their new single, “Global,” which featured Dizzy Wright, Las Vegas torchbearers 2Realist are back with their brand new song, “Fantasy.” Set to the tone of a beautiful Snoh Aalegra sample — provided by the “Do Not Disturb” instrumental — the duo trades off bars about the simplicity of their home city.

With, “Global” already approaching 20K views on Audiomack, it shouldn’t be long before this one follows up. Be sure to catch the wave before it’s too crowded as the Vegas natives are gearing to release their Global EP anyday now.

Prior to the last year or so, which saw Las Vegas explode with potential, the national stigma connected to the city has always been that Vegas is full of California exports who just couldn’t bring the scene together. Despite that, hometown hero Dizzy Wright rose through the ranks to burst through the barricades and become a XXL Freshman.

Meanwhile, fellow Sin City reps 2realist were building their empire differently, although just as respectable, releasing locally heralded mixtapes and doing charitable work in the community among other things. With another one of those anticipated projects from 2realist set to drop at the top of the year, the group enlists Dizzy for the lead single, “Global” joining two powerful sectors of the Las Vegas scene together for a much-needed collaboration.

Rhyming over a soulful sample and some dusty drum-breaks provided by Grammy award winning Producer Cam O’bi, 2realist handle the first two verses, lacing the track with lyrical venom complete with an intriguingly smooth cadence to contrast It. You almost forget that Dizzy is slated to be on the track until the Still Movin’ general flies through at the end and cleans up the refreshing production, paying homage to their home with lyrics like, “Reppin’ that LV to the fullest, every city I go they tugging’ & pullin’/ guarantee they’ll jump in front of the bullet.”

We caught up with 2Realist to talk about the crafting of the record, as well as the next steps in their process to take over. Check It out below.

RESPECT. Magazine: Where did the idea for the collaboration come about?

2realist: The collaboration came from trying to big up the city and break the chain of that local artists mentality and bring fourth the city on a global scale while still remaining true to the culture of the city.

RESPECT.: Is this song a throwaway or from an upcoming project?

2realist: It’s actually the title track from the project.

RESPECT.: Talk about the creative process behind the upcoming project.

2realist: Global is the representation of the transition from street bosses to young moguls, expanding horizons & sounds without having to water down the essence of who we really are.

RESPECT.: What can fans expect from you guys in the near future?

2realist: They can expect one of the more well rounded projects of the year wit the release of Global next month. It features Dizzy Wright, Grammy award wining Producer Cam Osteen, King Louie & a lot more surprises. Also, all new visuals and merchandise.
