“This ship looked like shit so we painted it”
A group of street artists collaborated on this large project to bring life and public attention to “The Duke of Lancaster” in Wales. The old ship has been docked in the harbor for 34 years. Artists such as Snub23 (above) are working on the abandoned cruise liner, transforming it from rusty ship to Europe’s largest open art gallery. His piece is entitled Your Time Is Up, The Future Is Here, his menacing robot breaking out from the inside of the ship to deliver the title’s warning.
Dale Grimshaw has also spent the past few days using the ship as his canvas. The British painter delivers one of his largest murals with in his signature portrait style. Soon the works of Spacehop and Dan Kitchener will board ship. We’ ll keep you posted!
