Cool video; song is lame. Way too much auto tune, even for a Kanye-BoB-Drake knockoff. But, if you want to move a few tracks on ITunes, do what you gotta do. And yeah, it’s “Starkville.”

The song is fresh and original. The video is well produced. Pell “a Kanye-BoB-Drake knockoff?” Good company to be compared. Kid appears to be paving his own lane.

How is it original if it’s a knockoff? It’s a blatant knockoff.

Merriam Webster defines the word “original” to mean “the source or cause from which something arises;” “a work composed firsthand.” Pell is the “source or cause from which the [song] arises.” The song appears to be “a work composed firsthand” by Pell. The song is fresh and “original.” Recess.

Running to a dictionary to refute a claim that dude is biting someone else’s style proves you can’t think of a legitimate rebuttal. By bare bones definition, yes, he did create the song. But, his originality stops there. There’s nothing original about making an auto tuned song. In fact, it’s “imitation” and not “original.” This song only adds to the auto tune saturation. And it’s not like son kicks any dope lines in the song.

Because as you say Kanye-BoB-Drake use auto tune, you say Pell is biting their style by using auto tune. Because you say there is nothing original about making an auto tuned song, you say the “original” songs created by Kanye-BoB-Drake-Pell are “imitations.” There can be but one rebuttal to that logic. Those who can do, those who can’t hate.

lol. So, you’re rebuttal is “if you can’t make autotuned songs, then you’re resigned to hate.” We obviously have differing opinions on what’s original and knockoff.

Autotune is a trend, and like many rappers before him, Pell is cashing in on the trend. There’s nothing original about using a heavily used (and heavily scrutinized) studio effect to make a pop-sounding song. As I stated earlier, I don’t blame dude (he wants to move some songs on Itunes). However, despite your arguments (which are semantic), I can’t give dude points for a “fresh” and “original” song. It isn’t, and neither is the video, which is an overly artsy attempt to recreate a Kubrick movie they saw when they were high.

Finally, do you know why people imitate others and follow trends? Because they can’t think of anything original! Or at least anything good that’s original.
