In the midst of the South’s current reign over Hip-Hop, the Carolinas might be less considered in regards to cultural debate; regardless, the area has produced some of Rap’s most pivotal artists, including Timbaland‘s former protege Petey Pablo, noted songwriter/battle rapper Rain and superstar artist J. Cole. Even less known is what’s been cooking in South Carolina — two of its larger products, (Young) Jeezy and Young Scooter, ended up making a name for themselves in Atlanta (with that said, artists like Ridgeway’s Lil Ru and rising Walterboro star Nick Grant deserve honorable mention).
Now, up-and-coming Orangeburg rapper Krazy Obilla looks to change that stigma with his music, and his first big step follows a pathway made popular by one of Rap’s greatest bullies. His new single, “Rob Atlanta,” takes from 50 Cent‘s classic cut “How To Rob” and sees Obilla running the jewels on any and everyone in the ATL: T.I., Migos, Young Thug, Future, the cast of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta and even the Atlanta Falcons get name-checked on the abrasive-yet-melodic record. If anything, the song is sure to raise some eyebrows for the hungry emcee.
