Producer duo Christian Rich is back with another engaging track. If you remember “Deep,” this song may come as a surprise, given how different the songs are. Characterized by lighter and melodic elements, “In Between” is more ambient, more subdued. The vocals are uncredited so it’s unclear whether they come from a sample or a singer recruited specifically for the song, but you’ll get over that.
The real appeal of the song is its constantly changing intensities: the sounds start to crash, then they float, then they freeze, in no particular order, always fluctuating, never crystallizing. They remain “in between.” Listen below. It’s brief, but masterful.
This writer isn’t knowledgeable enough to know exactly what French house music sounds like, but in our interview with them earlier this year, we were told that they are working on a French house EP. Is this the first taste or something entirely unrelated? Let us know your thoughts.
