Azealia Banks said that she was going to release music from project-after-next before she released her next project and she wasn’t kidding. The song in question was “Count Contessa,” a sprightly seapunk track straight from the soundtrack of your favorite, but long forgotten Sega Saturn game. Banks‘ relationship with seapunk has been disputed, but let’s be real: she does it well. The music is pleasant and inventive. When’s the last time you used those adjectives to describe a rap song?
Listen below and look for this track on Banks’ album-after-next: Fantasea II: The Second Wave.
