The 2011 Nuart Festival is all set to hit the streets in exactly one month, but the festival’s organizers are also looking at its past. On October 1st, the event will kick off with a party and book signing for Eloquent Vandals: The History of Nuart Norway.
The book documents the festival’s last six years with over 250 pages of exclusive images from artists like Swoon, Vhils, Blu, Ericailcane, Dface, Nick Walker, and Blek Le Rat. There are also essays from Steve and Jaime from Brooklyn Street Art, stories from artist Logan Hicks, diary extracts from Chris Stain, and more.
As for the festival itself, here’s this year’s artist line up… Dan Witz, David Choe, Herakut, Herbert Baglione, Escif, Hyuro, Tellas, Lucy McLauchlan, Dolk, Phlegm and Vhils.
Instead of having most of the work on the buildings of Stavanger, Norway, per usual, the festival is going to be mostly indoors this year. According to the festival the artists will paint their murals on seven abandoned 17x5x5 meter tunnels [and] a 50meter long access tunnel with an entrance hall equal in size to the cities largest gallery. Sounds a little sketchy, doesn’t it?
