If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to be successful entrepreneur, you need to hear the story of Tyrus R. Brown, a millionaire serial entrepreneur and author. Brown, one of five children, was raised in a single parent household in Memphis, Tennessee. His family struggled for food and Brown remembers fearing being evicted. That fear stayed with him as an adult. But it did not leave him feeling wounded or wronged. “Not knowing where our next meal would come from,” he remembered, “or where I [would] lay my head the next day… truly molded me into a businessman.”

He left home at 14-years-old and eventually became homeless. While he continued attending school, he was ultimately kicked out of high school his senior year. But he didn’t let that stop him. “The key to being successful is working hard and never giving up,” he said. He later received his GED and would go on to receive three college degrees. Watching how his mother struggled, Brown was determined not to experience a similar fate.

He read self-help and financial books, which helped him understand the world around him. He dropped out of medical school to get his real estate license and has gone on to make a name for himself as a real estate investor and serial entrepreneur. He owns commercial and rental properties, has over nine storefronts and businesses, sells stocks, and has published three books. “Entrepreneurship is very challenging,” he admits. “What’s kept me going through the tough days were my goals and my mother.” Indeed, his hard work and dedication have paid off. Brown became a millionaire at just 26 years old and is on track to amass $2.9 million in assets and capital. He went from sleeping on concrete to transforming himself into a self-made millionaire.

Check out his book “The Game Untold” on Amazon and EBay here.

“How To Get Your Grown Woman On” is a sassy, up-to-date guide for preteen and teenage girls. It teaches them how to cope with the issues facing them today. Written by Dr. Crystal Morris-Newsom this motivational book provides clear-cut instructions on how a young lady should care for her body inside and out as well as how to treat others while still promoting self-love. “How To Get Your Grown Woman On” allows young ladies to write in a journal setting to express how they are feeling about certain topics, such as dating, sex, drugs, bullying and suicide. Moreover, the book provides a mental map of situations they may go through and offers the tools to get past any storms that may come into their lives.

Kelly Rowland and son Titan – Photo source courtesy of KellyRowlandPremiereUniversal

Kelly Rowland has made quite the name for herself over the years, being a veteran in one of the most talked about and successful girl groups ever; and that success continued to follow as she spread her wings in her own solo career. So, you might ask – Is there anything else the former Destiny’s Child veteran and “Kisses Down Low” singer hopes to accomplish? Well, outside of being a mother; you can now add author to the song bird’s name.

Rowland, who gave birth to son Titan Jewel in 2014, penned a new book titled Whoa, Baby!, which chronicles her experiences and questions after giving birth to her son. Rowland becomes very candid about her boobs and the intense emotions she felt after looking at herself down there for the first time after giving birth.

“I could hardly sit down on a wood chair without letting out a shriek of pain … Had giving birth actually ruined my vagina for life?” she said. “I made the mistake of getting out a mirror and trying to study the situation. Talk about the world’s worst idea! When I finally caught a glimpse of the orifice that was causing me so much pain and sorrow, I almost screamed out loud. That bloody battlefield was my vagina? Was I going to look like that forever? Would Tim ever want to come near that nasty scene again?”

According to People, Rowland stated that after many “after” calls to her OB/GYN Dr. Tristan Bickman, Rowland was informed that most patients seem to have more questions after birth than during birth, and how someone should write a book about it. That comment sparked something in Rowland, who decided to follow the doctor’s suggestion and write a book for moms surrounding the many questions they might have concerning their body post-birth. So, with the help of her doctor, Kelly got to work and started journaling everything that happened to her emotionally, physically, and spiritually after she gave birth.

Whoa Baby will soon hit stores everywhere. You can follow Kelly on Instagram to get all the details on how to pre-order.

This past Monday, the Trap God posted an image of the autobiography cover to all his social media. The Autobiography of Gucci Mane is Gucci’s first foray outside music, so naturally the hype for the book will continue until its September 19th release date.

While put together in prison, the book covers every aspect of Gucci’s life— from growing up in East Atlanta, transitioning from drug dealer to rap pioneer for the trap music genre.

“Every success was followed by setback. Too often, his erratic behavior threatened to end it all. But Gucci Mane has changed, and he’s decided to tell his story,” the Amazon description page explains.

Silkk The Shocker dropped by this weeks episode of the Scoop B Radio Podcast.

The southern hip hop legend has a fairly large music catalogue. The New Orleans rapper released his debut album, The Shocker, on No Limit Records in 1996.During his career he successfully released two consecutive platinum albums and a gold one. His catalogue boasts hits like: It Ain’t My Fault, Movin’ On, Ghetto Tears, Mama Always Told Me, Thug ‘n’ Me, which folks grew to learn and love in the 90s and the early 2000s.

Silkk spoke on the Scoop B Radio Podcast very candidly about taking time off from the rap game, entrepreneurship and staying business minded over the years.

He appeared in the horror film, Reservation. Silkk The Shocker is making a comeback of sorts. He appeared in the The All I Do Is Win mixtape in 2010, appeared on Dej Loaf’s album and last year dropped an album titled, Incredible.

Justin Cronin’s vampire series, starting with The Passage, has had a pilot episode ordered for it from Fox. Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights) has been slated to write the pilot with Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) to direct it. They will be working in association with 20th Century Fox and Scott Free Productions, according to Deadline.

The books that Cronin writes do not include the sexy or sparkly vampires that mainstream media has come to expect. In fact, it’s not really about vampires at all. Instead, the series combines a vampire-esque plague with government conspiracies and an apocalypse to bring the element of horror that many vampire narratives lack. The government experiments with a virus taken from South American bats that combats most diseases and extends life, something that would be beneficial for the creation of supersoldiers. But everything goes horribly wrong, turning the death row inmates they had been experimenting on into terrible monsters. Also injected, though with a refined strain, is a six-year-old orphan, Amy. She becomes humanity’s last hope for survival nearly a hundred years later when what remains of humanity is being hunted by the bloodthirsty and incredibly infectious virals.

The rights to bring this series to the screen had been bought before the first book had even been completed back in 2007. Cronin published The Passage in 2010, with its sequel The Twelve published in 2012, and the final installment The City of Mirrors was released earlier this year. The series has been described as “a character driven government conspiracy thriller”. If people who hear about this are expecting yet another vampire series, they may be disappointed—if they aren’t already completely enthralled with the excellent story they have found instead.

“No Half Steppin’ “, a new book by authors Claude “Paradise” Gray and Giuseppe “u.net” Pipitone, explains the role the Latin Quarter of NYC played in the creation of some of the best hip-hop to come out of the 1980’s and 1990’s including some of the greatest hip-hop legends. Being one of the first books to provide an oral history about hip-hop, it breaks ground in bringing readers back to the genesis of some of the most celebrated hits. Beyond this, it investigates the specific past of the often overlooked Times Square club, where stars like A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, Eric B. & Rakin, Queen Latifah, and Public Enemy gained their fame. Featuring both pictures as well as written content, the book has been described as a, “great shot in the arm to hip-hop culture with an enjoyable reminder of what we had and our entertainment was also birthed from…inspiring smiles and memories like our family photo books,” by Christopher “Play” Martin (Kid & Play).
