Mental health is one of the most talked about topics at hand in America nowadays. Walking hand in hand with that issue, is the US’ embarrassingly weird affinity with opioids and labeling them as, “medicine.” Like it or not, the two play a critical role in each other’s influence and it needs to be spoken about even more. One artist taking that’s taking the responsibility and doing this is ChiefDVB, who checks in with his enlightened new video for, “Drugz.”

Directed by buzzing cameraman AGoodBreak, “Drugz” follows Chief as he peddles through a Las Vegas suburban neighborhood, looking to locate the local dope-man. Throughout this journey, we are blessed to trippy residential shots, soundtracked by wavy production and self-aware lyricism from Chief.

With the video culminating in Chief finally finding the dealer — hilariously played by frequent collaborator Wave MMLZ — he then gets high and nods off before some perfectly placed information about addiction in America ends the video on the right note. With most of the video being in the perspective of somebody seeking drugs for enjoyment, it was very responsible of them to instead show the negative side effects of what that journey could bring back.

Check out the video for, “Drugz” above and get familiar with ChiefDVB

The West Coast is back, officially. Sure, there have been artists from California who have been holding down the west for years, but the coast is bigger than that. With great music starting to come from places like Arizona, Colorado & even Oregon, the whole Coast has begun to join in on the fun. Hailing from Eastside Las Vegas, rising rapper Leanin Lo turns in his brilliant new album, 4 The Low.

Boasting an all-star cast of features which include the likes of Larry June, Z Money & ALLBLACK, as well as Grammy nominated artists Mozzy, Garren, King Vay & Kacey Khaliel, 4 The Low is an aggressively charged, bass-driven project that is wildly enjoyable. At 20-tracks, the album may seem a bit bloated at first, but within the listen, it’s not as long as advertised. At only 1 hour long, the jam-packed album is a great listen for when you’re getting ready to go to war, or if you just want some new potent rap.

Check out the album below and get familiar with Leanin Lo.

Checking in to the site for the first time is Florida native Henny Lago. Hailing from St. Augustine, the rising rapper has been making noise as of late and the main reason for that could be the release of his new video for, “Space Rock.”

Shot by buzzing Arizona cameraman, Colin Miller, “Space Rock” is an enjoyable journey with Henny Lago as he siphons through unique cadences, beautiful women & a lot of smoke. With an effect heavy theme that makes for a fairly trippy video, it’s no surprise that both Lago & Miller are on the rise, respectively.

Watch the video for, “Space Rock” above and get familiar with the duo.

A few months ago, around late August-early September, Pete Planes & Heart of Troy decided to join forces and releases a collaborative self-titled EP under the name, CHILDLIKE. One of the standout records from the project was the eclectic track, “Feel It,” & it gets the video treatment as the duo checks in with the groovy new visuals.

Set in the hot, dry desert of Las Vegas, Nevada, the location for the video isn’t what you’d probably picture when listening to the 80s inspired single, but CHILDLIKE isn’t what you’d expect from your average electronic duo. Meeting at the Mississippi School of Arts, the duo is as odd a match as ever on the surface, but fit together like a tailored glove as Plane’s far-out productions compliment Troy’s sultry vocals as perfectly as can be.

Check out the video for, “Feel It” above and be sure to check out their new EP. You’ll be the life of the next party.

While Las Vegas in general has been catching a buzz in relation to its growing Hip-Hop scene, North Las Vegas in particular has been churning out heaters. With guys like Big Homie Stone & Impact RH making noise on one side, resident prodigal producer/rapper Wave MMLZ decides to come out of his cave and drop a nuclear bomb of a single in, “Walk The Line.”

Self produces by Wave & featuring fellow Norftown legend T. Rabb, “Walk The Line” is one of the better singles I’ve heard from Wave in 2018. Carrying a, “fuck it” type energy that makes his cadences sound a lot more confident and aggressive, Wave further establishes a sound that was starting to become a bit more prominent on each passing single. Though the stoner-rapper is one for peace and tranquility — MMLZ stands for, “Make Music Live Zen” — he makes it pretty obvious on this one that rapping with the best of them is not an issue, but a sport.

Oh yeah, did we also mention T. Rabb is on the record? I think we did, but just had to do it again. The show-stopping verse from the Vegas legend is a positive sign of things to come after a relatively quiet year.

Check out, “Walk The Line” below and get familiar with North Las Vegas.

Birthdays often lose their spunk as you get older. When you’re a child, the experience is a lot better. Where as during your adult years, you’re probably getting wasted. That is unless you’re getting to the money like Northeast native Raldi in his new single, “Cake.”

Sticking to melodically driven production that’s catered to his sound, “Cake” is a solid, appetizing track from the rising rapper. With a fiery cadence that compliments his witty wordplay, the Pennsylvania rep has a sound worth building on.

Check out, “Cake” below & be sure to get familiar with the Lancaster native.

Satanic themes in Hip-Hop have been wildly popular the last year or so. We’ve seen cats like Lil Uzi Vert & Playboi Carti completely rebrand themselves in this image, making for some scary, but hard-to-ignore music. Hailing from Virginia, rising star DANVHEFNER drops off his energetic new EP, Speak Of The Devil.

At 7-tracks-long, Speak Of The Devil is a short, but sweet dive into the abilities of HEFNER. While the controversial name and visually stimulating artwork will be part of what carries this project on the surface, the music is what makes it substantial. Utilizing his raspy voice perfectly, & meshing it with some creative lyricism and knack for melodies, HEFNER provides a stellar surprise EP. It’s only a matter of time before the Virginia native starts to generate some more noise.

Check out, Speak Of The Devil below.
