Maryland artist Nedessy L’Amour uses her musical gifts to curate an open letter to America titled “Dear America.” Centered around the recent BLM revolution going on in America, Nedessy uses her platform to shed light on this issue affecting her people.
It starts with a news clip of Donald Trump, illustrating him as the devil. She sends a clear message about how America is viewing black struggle currently. Throughout the video, Nedessy is seen in various scenes reciting her lyrics and protesting with Washington D.C. natives. Furthermore, Nedessy has a few powerful words about how she feels about the current status of the world.
“Black parents should not have to fear for their, and their children’s lives anymore just because of the skin complexion they’re born with,” she said. “We must come together snd use our platforms to create the change that is needed worldwide.” Check it out below.
