The beautiful thing about art, no matter the medium, is that everyone’s taste is entirely subjective. For a musical artist like James Luctamar, his individual artistic style is achieved through the performance of his own music, and he’s able to show us this through his passions and accomplishments, which he demonstrates in his own unique way.
Living in Westchester, New York, James actually fell in love with performing music at the bright-eyed, young age of 11.
His knack for learning new songs at an exceptional rate put him on the map and set him apart from his peers. His unique gift as an artist is being able to separate instruments within a song and take apart every note in a melodic manner. It’s true when they say no other musical artist compares!
Aside from that, James can also string songs together in a medley or mashup seamlessly, while other music artists tend to only focus on one song at a time.
Specializing in R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Gospel styles, James has had over 10 million impressions and engagements, and his style fuses the classical styling of the piano with the more modernized feel he prefers. However, James is proud to say he has never met a genre of music he won’t test out for himself! And because of this, he can pick up the underlying romantic aspects in songs and use his instruments to truly give life to each lyric.
While he may be comfortable with a range of instruments, the piano is definitely where his heart lies. Though lately, he’s even taken up the drums to change it up a little bit and challenge himself. It’s his mission to continue blending dynamic styles and create musical masterpieces that speak to his audience all while using a variety of instruments.
James believes that music is a delicate form of art, and the way he strings his songs together in his medleys and mashups is his version of art in its purest form. It’s truly music to the ears!
So, what’s next for this up-and coming musical artist? James hopes to recreate more covers in a way that will move the souls of others and encourage the younger generation. He also wants to continue to blend each genre and leave a lasting musical impression that will reach millions across multiple social media platforms.
For James, the music will never stop! Whether it’s a song from a new top 40s hit artist or someone in the newer open mic-circuit, he’s developed a talented ear that knows what people desire, even when they’re unsure themselves.
