HANZ Brings Vagabond Season Upon Us

Stepping out from a small town on the lakeside of New Jersey called, Lake Hiawatha, multifaceted Haitian-American crooner, HANZ comes as the industry’s next up.

He refers to his hometown as “the lake” — the muse behind his Lakeside Vagabond alias. While his layered lyrics serve as the foundation of his artistry, they’re styled by his personal state of reclusion and eccentric art direction. HANZ wasn’t always a one man band in his musical journey. In fact, before pursuing his solo career, he previously was a lead member of a group called, BLDY RXSE, when they dropped their last project in 2018 as a collective.

After going solo, HANZ wasn’t ready to leave his fans just yet. Instead, he kept the fans entertained with his lead singles, “Tittney” and “Back On”. Adding to HANZ’s editorial playlist coverage, these two tracks landed on notable streaming platforms, Spotify and Audiomack on playlists like “Fresh Finds” garnering of 70,000 streams combined. While both singles were doing numbers on their own, the overall project took over the Best Selling charts of Bandcamp.

HANZ released his introductory project titled, 2020 PRAYLUDE. Making its debut to the underground music world on June 12th, 2020, it was at that moment he formed his musical footprint. With a play on words, the mixtape “2020 PRAYLUDE” comes as a literal prelude to his forthcoming album.

Born to parents who immigrated from Haiti to Newark, NJ, HANZ uses his music to tell the stories of his past. With that being said, while PRAYLUDE is an impressive piece of musical art and holds weight on its own, there’s more behind the mixtape. HANZ announced that all profits will go to a charitable organization called “Jannah On Grafton” which focuses on ending the food disparity gap in North Newark, an area hit hard by COVID-19. So not only are you consuming great music, you’re giving back to the community.

Evident within all 8 tracks including the 2 features, the mixtape showcases the intellectual lyricism and expansive artistry of the 27- year old rapper. Making a great first impression, fast forward a year later and the Jersey rhymer is following up with his full-length project, VAGABOND arriving Fall 2020. Not letting up, it’s clear that the rising star is destined for greatness and has everything an artist needs to succeed. Although this may be the first you hear of the rising rhymer, I can promise you it won’t be your last!
