Many may have seen Rapper Botimi Freed on national TV when he went on an American reality show where he had some airtime for his tracks during a playful exchange with the famous Jerry Springer. Recently, the rap artist released his latest EP “Player & a Savage” on Spotify.
Born in 1990, Botimi Emmanuel Egei is a rising hip hop artist based in Montgomery County, Maryland. Growing up, he had an affinity for music, but he only developed his passion for hip hop in his late teenage years. He started rapping when he was already 17 years old. After school, he and his classmates would jump right into freestyle rapping. Many of his friends urged him to continue exploring his rapping skills. From then on, hip hop music has been a huge part of his life.
In late 2016, he recorded his first song. Since his first recording, he continued making more musical pieces, showcasing them on different platforms. Today, he is a verified artist in one of the most popular music-streaming platforms, Spotify, where he has an average of 4,000 monthly listeners. Some of his popular releases include “Track 3,” “Talk to God,” “Love Woes,” ‘Switched Up,” and the latest one, “Aspirin.”
Much of the content of this talented artist’s songs revolve around his celebration of life and how he rose above poverty. Some tracks also reflect how far he has come in his journey. Growing up in a world full of struggle, he learned that life is a never-ending hustle. He realized that to move forward, people have to fall in love with their daily grind. He also highlights his early musical inspirations, including famous artists like Tupac, Kanye West, and Outkast. He also points out his inspiration from his faith and devotion to God.
Botimi has an impressive talent in rapping. He has a chameleon-like ability when it comes to his delivery of song lyrics. He can make smooth flows and transitions as he jumps through verses. Unlike some hip hop songs that can be too strong to the ears, most of his tracks feature pleasant tunes that give off chill vibes. This musical approach gives a much more enjoyable experience to his listeners.
The up-and-coming hip hop artist seeks to leave a mark in the music industry. He hopes to inspire people in doing whatever they want to do in life. He wants people to understand that they can take their talents as far as they want. With hard work, faith, commitment, and passion, a person moves closer and closer toward their dreams in life. Botimi, himself, is still pushing to move forward with his music career. There is no room for backing down with this committed rapper. There is only space for moving forward. He makes it a point to improve himself every day as a rapper and an individual.
