2020 has been an interesting year for a South Dakota artist named Blacklite District. Also known as Kyle Pfeiffer. He’s spent the first half of the year releasing singles every six weeks consecutively to promote his official debut album, You’re Welcome, which was released this past Friday, July 17 via AK19 Entertainment. Blacklite district has released several album-type projects over the last couple of years, but “You’re Welcome” has a different feel. The 19-track playlist features songs from 2018 up until as recently as the end of June, making Pfeiffer’s “official debut” that much more important.
The hype and appeal for this album has been led by the single Falling, which hit #3 on YouTube’s Trending chart in the USA back on June 9th, Pfeiffer’s 30th birthday. Following the viral success on YouTube, the song landed Top 30 in seven counties and continues to be one of his most streamed songs this year. Spotify has shown support by adding Falling to their massive “Alternative Beats” playlist, and by creating a full “this is Blacklite District” playlist featuring all of Pfeiffer’s best work. Blacklite District plans to spend the rest of the summer promoting the album by releasing multiple videos on his YouTube channel.
Peep “You’re Welcome” on all streaming platforms and watch out for this up-and-coming artist who’s potentially truly limitless. The future looks bright in the Blacklite District.
