Chicago-bred MC Ramsay Tha Great is no stranger when it comes to having run-ins with police, but now he’s using his star power to shed a light on a subject that is important to all–police brutality.
After running into legal trouble in 2017 and completing three years of a 10-year sentence, Ramsay Tha Great is back and is eager to show fans how much he’s changed with the release of his new single “I Can’t Breathe,” Angered by the murder of George Floyd, the Southside native took to the booth to be the voice of the frustration of these plagued by decades of police brutality and violence.
“I Can’t Breathe” features Ramsay Tha Great naming off recent victims of police brutality including George Floyd, Sandra Bland, and Trayvon Martin before telling the story of what it’s like growing up feeling fear around police officers before letting out a battle cry stating enough is enough.
Early last week, the Chi-town rapper took to Instagram to announce the single’s release in solidarity with the mutli-city protests going on across the country town overwhelming response from fans.
