Miami Rapper Cheflodeezy Drops a Summer Anthem Titled “Ass Up”

Most days you can find Cheflodeezy zooming through the streets of Miami. The Miami rapper is on a tear in 2020 releasing music constantly. His mixtape, Kitchen Talk, hosted by DJ Chill Will has received a warm reception. His trap single Koockin & Juggin has also been well received. Summer is here though, and even in the middle of a global pandemic and social unrest, we know music is still a release. Cheflodeezy has released his entrant for consideration for an official summer anthem. The track, produced by Reggie Beatz, is titled “Ass Up” and mashes an up-tempo beat with slick Jamaican patois vocals. The track features Atlanta’s DJ Fatboy Rhymer who adds an extra dimension to the track. Once the track starts up and the beat and vocals kick in, it’s hard not to immediately feel the up-tempo party vibe.

The visuals for the song were shot in Kingston, Jamaica by veteran music video director Steven Bernard aka Cinema Gods. The video which features, ahem, a whole lot of derriere and was choreographed in Kingston by popular dancehall choreographer Kimiko Miller of the Versatile Ones dance collective. The video perfectly interprets the mood of the song with a straight up strip club vibe. Usually summers are a time when we can let our hair down, take a trip or two, and hit the beach, and party. Sometimes really hard. Even though this summer will be unlike any other given that the world is going through it at the moment. Music is still our tonic. It’s still what makes us dance and vibe, and if we get to turn up, then we want it to be all the way up.
