Self proclaimed “Princess Of Compton” Azjah is putting on for her city in major ways. After going viral in 2017 for her hit single “The Warm Up“ she is ready to take her original and authentic sound to new heights. With being one of the most successful femcee’s coming out of Compton, Azjah continues to show the world how far a hometown hero is going. Having recently landed a sponsorship deal with Black Arrow and LA Galaxy for their latest collaborative effort, she is take her West Coast influence to another level.
The LA Galaxy and Black Arrow Partnership
The LA Galaxy and Black Arrow (FC), the lifestyle brand that focuses on the intersection of soccer and black culture, are officially partnering on a series of projects over the 2020 MLS season. According to the official Black Arrow website “The partnership was born out of their mutual quest to grow the game (soccer) in the African American community and do so in an authentic and impactful way”.
As the Princess of Compton is far more than just a rapper, this opportunity allows her to explore creativity in a new way. Black Arrow, which focuses on the integrating of soccer and black culture, has Azjah as the face of their new partnership. To make this movement more impactful, they have created a photography series that is a “lookbook” for the clubs 2020 Home Jersey, a celebration of their 25th season in Major League Soccer!
The Look Book
The visuals that are apart of the “look book” showcases Black Arrow’s trailblazing approach to bridging soccer and black culture. It also highlights the life of Azjah and rise to fame, as she who grew up 3 ½ miles from Dignity Health Park where the LA Galaxy play.
As The Princess Of Compton prepares to attend her first ever match on March 7th at the Season Opener, she is making a huge statement for female rappers looking to tap into a different market to inspire change.
