Tara Thomas is a publicist, who is behind the scenes, organizing the interviews for artists for the upcoming tour that will start in a few days. She has traveled city to city with the creatives who turned into family. Thomas states,”G squared Events has become my family.” As the Millennium tour gearing up for a second time, it will be bigger than the last. Having sold out dates across the board already, the artists will give you an incredible show. We caught up with Tara and we discussed her memorable experience on tour, the one song she knows word for word and more.
RESPECT.: What can you say is your most memorable experience going on tour from city to city?
The nostalgia of the millennial culture coming back around through the fans is definitely the most memorable including everything from the music, slang and dress!
RESPECT.: What city stood out to you the most?
I would say Los Angeles because so many stars came out and showed their support for the tour.
RESPECT.: What city stood out the most when taking it back wearing the go to look?
Detroit showed up and showed out!
RESPECT.: Whose idea was it to bring everyone together to relive childhood memories to call it a millennium tour?
That would be the CEO of G Squared Events, Gary!
RESPECT.: What is that one song you can take it back and know all the words to?
“GRIND WIT ME” by Pretty Ricky
RESPECT.: As being a black woman, who is a publicist in the industry, by getting everyone organized and ready to do interviews, tell us your experience with working at a male dominated industry on tour since it’s all males.
It has been amazing despite what some may expect. I have always been able to roll with respectful men such as these guys. Everyone is humble yet aggressive in their space. They see me as a big sister so the vibe is always positive. We encourage each other towards greatness.
RESPECT.: What can we expect from the millennium tour compared to last years that you are excited to see?
All the new sets and special guests that are coming out! We not only get to see more of Ashanti, but we get to see the solo of Omarion, Bow and so much more surprises from the artist who came back from last year’s tour with new surprises!
