Rising artist, Jesse Neo, tells us how his musical background allowed him to create a marketplace for producers and other artists by creating a new platform called, Gemtracks.
“After releasing my first single, “Sex Magic,” I suddenly began being headlined in big publications like The Huff Post, and my songs were being played in dozens of clubs across Australia,” Neo told us. “Eventually, record labels and YouTube channels were reaching out to me to make beats for them.”
Overwhelmed with the new venture, Jesse Neo relocated to Los Angeles to be closer to the industry and soon after he came up with the idea of Gemtracks, where producers could sell and buy original beats.
“For about three months, I was bombarded with emails and phone calls from people wanting to hear samples of my beats,” the Australian singer revealed. “I remember being told that the formula to success is not to work harder, but smarter. So instead of manually sending links of my beats to people, I decided to create an online store where anyone could browse through my work and place in their orders.”
“I now give myself the title of music technologist, “It’s amazing how the world we live in now can allow you to mix two completely unrelated industries into one. I guess with technology becoming such an important factor of our lives today, this is deemed to happen.”
Currently Jesse is working on additional exciting features on Gemtracks, such as marketing and analytical tools for producers signed up to the website to use.
The marketplace offers beats from a variety of genres including hip hop, EDM and pop, all the way to jazz and country. There is even a section offering informative guides, such as 1,000 Songwriting Prompts and How to Create a Music Video Storyboard, among many others.
If you are interested in buying or selling beats, make sure you head over to Gemtracks now.
