California-raised and Las Vegas-living rapper The Bobby Effect sat down on the set of her new video for “Hungry” (off full-length debut album E11EVEN) to explain why she gets called “trill goddess,” how her recent trip to Egypt inspired the title and theme of her album and what her favorite songs are from the artists who she looks up to the most. The Bobby Effect is known for her conscious outlook, but as this interview makes clear, she’s never one to cosign judging others for being different.
“When other people on the outside don’t respect what you have going on and they try to hate on you for no reason, I don’t want to bring that sh** to other people.”
