Doley Bernays releases new heart felt two pack, titled “I Promised”. In the opening skit, he receives a call from a female in a federal prison. She puts into perspective how important it is to invest in yourself to secure a future. The second song is titled, “Eulogies, No Vows.” Doley goes deep into his emotions about life changing events that inspired him to take his career to the next level. He learned how important it is to be strong in tough times for his family and friends. He also has to explain to a childhood friend behind bars how their parent died. Bernays grew up in an environment where he heard more eulogies then vows. Many may wonder how he does it but as you listen to the pain in his cadence, interestingly enough we look forward to these tracks to console us.
“We made Muddy a promise. Muddy kept every promise.”
The last track, is called “I Promise.” Every bar told the story about the passing of his brother, Muddy. He was a genuine soul who motivated everyone to be great. His brother left an impeccable legacy that is unmatched. Known as the “Neighborhood Hero” his hard work and dedication is timeless. Doley let his heart open and spoke the truth about coping. Expressing himself in a lyrical pattern where you hear the story unfold in a rhythmic flow. He shows us how he uses pain as power to elevate his music. Both records combined create a timeless vibe that only a true lyricist can make. Check out “I Promised” here:
