Delaware’s master of lyrical arts and melodic whims Akee Fontane returns to the scene with his latest release G.A.B.O.S. (Game Ain’t Based On Sympathy) Shining light on topics such as black mental health, and poverty issues in Delaware, this is by far Akee’s most impressive body of work to date.
Gritty and dangerous, just like his upbringing in Delaware, this project is a decisive, fiery, and bold release. He does an excellent job of sharing stories that impact his real life struggles as an African American living in an environment designed for him to fail.
To add some more diversity to this release he tapped fellow emcee G-Baby, who appears on track 7 “Look In My Eyes”. These two rappers have a unique chemistry that made for a really dope record.
Fontane, in his own words “put his heart, sweat, and tears into curating album where it’s bigger than him chasing the dream of music.” The dream of being able to give back to his home state and use music as a tool of healing his community, is what drives him.
Along with the new project, he his helping local community shelters by raising money up for holidays dinners. Fontane did this because he remembers growing up without food in his house so he doesn’t want other people to go through the same issues he had.
