DJ/Philanthropist Ebube Oriji hails from the city of Trenton, NJ. Throughout his DJ career, he has mastered his skills at hundreds of events. After years as a professional DJ, he is known as a premiere entertainer. As his popularity grew he began to promote his own events. This decision quickly turned out to be for the best as legions of supporters up to the thousands would show up to his events. He has played at some of the best clubs/venues in the world, been in national TV commercials, and has been featured in several print media articles. With all his success, he has not grown tired. Instead he is constantly looking forward. He continues to work hard and perfect his craft.
The ambitious trailblazer’s lineage is from Abia State, Nigeria. He is the middle child of four siblings and has an extremely close knit family. During the times when Ebube was in the 3rd and 10th grade, his immediate family traveled back to their native land of Abia State, Nigeria. They stayed in their second family home located in the rural area of the village with no water or electricity to visit their extended family. These experiences helped Ebube discover that he is forever grateful for the little things that are taken for granted. This also inspired his passion to become a Philanthropist. Ebube is the founder of a Mobile Healthcare Service for Abia State, Nigeria called ‘Heale’.
When Ebube graduated from High School, he attended HBCU Delaware State University in 2008. He started to DJ during his Freshman year at the University. The first event he was booked for during his alma-mater was located at Taste Lounge on campus.
During the summer break leading up to his Sophomore year at the University, Ebube perfected his DJ skills. He returned to school that Fall on a higher level of mastery. Becoming an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity member that year catapulted Ebube to constantly being booked. He began DJ’ing for the University’s organizational events as well as house party’s located in apartments off campus. He had opportunities to also DJ at other Universities including Temple University, University of Maryland, NYU and many more.
During 2010, the DJ got the amazing opportunity to be a Student Host of BET Network’s ‘Black College Tour’ in 2010 for Delaware State University. During the same year, the keen ear for talent also booked Artist/Activist Meek Mill to perform a show at the University before he was a signed artist. True fans were in attendance to support Meek Mill and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
After experiencing one of the best times of his life, the entrepreneur graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Management of Information Systems in 2011. After graduating from the University, Ebube attended NYU for a semester and received an Advanced Diploma in Fundraising Concepts And Practices. During the time of his attendance, Ebube DJ’ed at local clubs, bars, and school events.
In 2012 Ebube booked Musician/Author Fonzworth Bentley to host a party at the ‘Pocono Greek Ski Trip’. Bentley’s Wife/Manager Faune A. Chambers was instrumental in getting Fonzworth Bentley on board. The ‘Pocono Greek Ski Trip’ was a huge success thanks to Ebube who was able to accomplish another big accolade.
This December, Ebube curated a block pre-party for a festival called ‘Culture Vibe’ in Lagos, Nigeria. The festival coming in 2020 will have an array of artists from Reggae to Afro Beats. Ebube is continuing to work hard and perfect all of his crafts.
