Travel app promises to change the basics of travel. Andrew Fashion loves to travel and for the majority of his adult life, traveling was not an issue and bringing friends along was never a problem. He simply covered 100 percent of everything needed. All the friends needed to do was arrive at the airport and go off on an adventure.
Jump forward a few years, and the opportunities Fashion had to bring friends along on travel excursions was severely curtailed. A close friend and later partner in Gypsee wanted to travel to Asia, but like Fashion, there was a small issue.
“We were both broke,” said Fashion in a recent interview about Gypsee.
A phone call soon followed between the two friends, and the laments of their lack of income yet serious desire for travel metamorphosed into a revolutionary travel idea.
Fashion explained, “We were talking and thinking how we could swing the trip. We were also interested in bringing other friends along, but they were living in another state. The more we chatted, the more a concept began to filter into our brains. We thought of a way to have everyone travel together from anywhere to a single location. In this way, Gypsee was born.”
Gypsee is going to make a fundamental change in the way people pay for and enjoy travel vacations and excursions. Subscribers will be able to select a location, invite friends to join them and make easy payments. Once payments are complete, subscribers only need to make it to the airport. Gypsee takes care of 100 percent of the rest.
Gypsee will handle all of the flights, hotel bookings, entertainment and the like. This means there is no single individual coordinating payments, flights, hotel rooms and finding activities that the entire group can share.
“Each individual person is responsible for their own payments. No one person has to pay for everyone with the hopes of being refunded. Until all of the payments are made, the individual does not get any of the travel information,” continued Fashion.
Eventually, Gypsee will have additional options for the exceptionally adventurous. Quests, searches and even meeting up with strangers destined for the same location will be possible.
“With all of the possibilities, all a subscriber will need to do is make the payments and show up at the airport. The plan is that easy,” continued Fashion.
RESPECT.: How will Gypsee impact the tech and travel industries?
Andrew: This is the secret of Gypsee. We are cutting most of the annoyances of travel out of the equation. Subscribers select an adventure, make their monthly payments and everything from the flights to the excursions are 100 percent covered. No hidden fees or costs.
RESPECT.: What is the benefit of this platform?
Andrew: Gypsee will allow subscribers to invite other fellow adventurers. Each individual is responsible for their own fees. When everyone is paid, everyone will arrive at the adventure location within six hours of one another, regardless of where they are in the continental U.S.
RESPECT.: How will the users expand their time in utilizing this platform?
Andrew: Time. That is the beauty of Gypsee. Everything is 100 percent laid out. Subscribers and their adventure cohorts will be able to select ‘quests’ and join with other Gypsee subscribers to explore their location and cultures. There is no sitting around wondering what to do on a given day everything is planned before hand.
RESPECT.: When was it founded and what was the vision?
Andrew: Gypsee is the brainchild of myself and my best friend. There was a time when my friends and I would adventure places, and I would cover 100 percent of everything. The last time we wanted to do anything like this, no one had the money to afford it. This made me think about a way to plan, pay and do an entire adventure on location with friends without the hassle of coordinating every tiny detail.
RESPECT.: What do you want to accomplish with Gypsee?
Andrew: I want to make travel an adventure. The goal is to have people from all over coming together on location with common goals and interests. These subscribers and adventurers will have ‘quests’ to complete on location. Basically, strangers coming together and bonding over the adventure.
RESPECT.: What is Gypsee’s mission and his is looking to curate the product for its customer?
Andrew: Gypsee’s mission is to provide the finest in curated adventure experiences for the individual and friends by changing the face of the entire adventure from booking to the return home. Gypsee will do this by making it so anyone can travel with friends anywhere. Gypsee has two adventures set to go now, but eventually there will be lots of different locations and adventures to choose from.
RESPECT.: What is in store for the remainder of 2019?
Andrew: The remainder of the year is dedicated to getting Gypsee up and running. We have a hard launch of January in the making, and we are wide open getting the app ready. There is still much more to do, however, so it is a strong recommendation to follow on Instagram @gypsee.travel and www.gypsee.travel for updates.
RESPECT.: What does RESPECT. mean to you?
Andrew: RESPECT. is about what it means to be the individual. The mag touches on some elements of life that other magazines will not touch through a combination of music, fashion and real talk. It is how I live my life, and how I envision Gypsee subscribers living theirs.
The Gypsee app will be available on the iOS platform by the end of 2019 and available on Android sometime in early 2020. Visit www.gypsee.travel for additional information and how to earn the absolute finest travel deals for life
