It is about that time for Pitchfork season! This year’s lineup has been announced and we are excited to look forward to Valee, Pusha T, Rico Nasty, Jeremih, Freddie Gibbs, Dreezy and a special celebration of the Isley Bros. The Chicago natives will be setting the show down and it is only right that we will witness greatness on that weekend. With new music that is in rotation for most of these artists, we are excited to hear it live from them, as well as, the old school performance of the legendary band Isley Bros.
Chicago emcee, Valee on the rise with G.O.O.D. Music, by releasing new music and a recent EP that came out a few weeks ago. We expect the “Miami” rapper to come out with a bang with a ChaseTheMoney track to start off his day or performance rather. By dyeing his dog Ferrari, red, it started a controversy but made it look like the album will be as hot as his dog.
Pusha T is someone we are dying to see with the release of his seven track album. We hope to see a pop out of any of the G.O.O.D. Music family with the consecutive album streak last year with Ye on the boards. ‘Daytona’ is a hit and it brings his fans into one of the conspiracies of the Drake diss that we have seen back and forth amongst some time now.
Rico Nasty with the freestyle that is rough! She is a part of the Freshman class and has something to prove that the MC has something to say! She released a joint project with Kenny Beats and might we say we have it on repeat along with her previous project! We can’t wait to see the “nasty” side of Rico during the festival.
Isley Bros. is celebrating their 60th birthday celebration with the festival this year! Might we say, we are outstanded to see the legendary performance. They paved the way to most of the artists out here and it will be a sight to see. They had hits from “Voyage to Atlantis” to all the way back to “Between the Sheets.” They have hits after hits after hits and might we say we are “contagious” of it.
Jeremih can shine the light with his sensual voice. He has classic hits for us from “Planez” to one of the classic hit single “Birthday Sex.” I know you guys remember back almost a decade! By releasing a joint album with South Central LA native Ty Dolla $ign, we can say that r&b isn’t dead like people say it is.
Dreezy has been consistent with being on the rap scene. She released her debut project earlier this year and made it known that she still in the game that will dominate as a female MC. Coming up on Chanel Slides, she recently was on the Dreamville camp to make a great hit single with Ari Lennox, Ty Dolla $ign and more with “Got Me.” We are humbled to see live on how much a great MC who is working to make herself known.
Freddie Gibbs had released his debut joint project, Bandana, with Madlib that is one of the most anticipated albums for a while. We are sure to see a performance with the two artists that can make the Chicago streets shake.
See more of the line up to know what is going on and visuals follow by it leading up to the show.
