Big news for Meek Mill this week. First, he and Jay-Z have added to their business relationship by partnering up through Roc Nation to (re-)launch Dream Chasers Records, an imprint that originally thrived under Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music umbrella since 2012. They revealed said partnership via the below CBS interview with Gayle King:
Added to that is a legal update that arrived this morning: it’s being reported by Fox Philly that Meek has been granted a new trial and judge for the 2008 drug and gun conviction that’s been haunting the rapper for more than a decade:
Defense lawyers believe the city judge who has overseen his case and sent him to prison in 2017 over minor parole violation has become too involved in the performer’s life – once checking on his community service efforts at a homeless shelter – and lost her impartiality.
