Wale Takes It Back to the "09 Folarin"

As Wale stresses on social media, certain fans can be more of an annoyance than anything else when they continuously complain about the changing sounds of an evolving artist (in the words of JAY-Z, “n***as want my old s***, buy my old album”). Even with that said, the D.C. star still obliged by delivering a throw-around single titled “09 Folarin,” which was produced by past collaborators Best Kept Secret and sees Wale at his lyrical best in 2019:

Folarin, I still demolished a starvin’ artist
Go to the jeweler in June leave in December prolly
I chase profit you say my name they change topics
So don’t start if you can’t back up like Blaine Gabbert
Don’t hate rap I just hate rappers that like perpin’
Real ice on fake n***as or vice versa
