Originated in Summerfield, North Carolina and now based in New York City, Summerfield collective is gearing up for their first full collection. Earlier this year the brand teased us with the release of their multi-functional hat. The hat came in two camouflage colorways. and served as a mask, and a hat. This piece was inspired by the brands upbringing in Summerfield, North Carolina, and the visual language of hunting culture.
“We were heavily inspired by our upbringing in North Carolina, and always seeing kids wearing camouflage growing up we wanted to bring a unique perspective to this concept moving to New York where hunting culture is not really a thing, merging these two worlds together” said members of the Summerfield Collective. Modeled by Trenton Parrot and a other artists, this hat was definitely a hot commodity. Additionally influencers such as Jazz Cartier were spotted wearing the hat in his music video “Relax” as well as AK the Savior from The Underachievers in the visual for “Deebo.” Also FatmanKey debuts an unreleased free radical shirt in his visual “Love on Ice.” which released earlier this year.
The brands first collection is Titled “001,Free Radical.” The concept of “free radical” represents true individuality. “We believe everyone can develop a mindset where fear and limitations are nonexistent and must understand that everything you are looking for You already have within you, you just have to believe. Being a free radical means being yourself, being an individual and embracing this. It is not just about the clothes but the mindsetand belief that our clothes represent.” said the Summerfield Collective.
Summerfield Collective creates based off of their life experiences and influences. Their mission “storytelling through garments with a focus on communicating new ideas, and layers of inspiration to our audience.” Collection 001 is set to release later this year, so stay tuned. 2019 for Summerfield Collective is something you definitely don’t want to miss.
