With the 28th pick in the 2019 NBA draft, the Golden State warriors selected Jordan Anthony Poole, a guard out of the University of Michigan. He will join the likes of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant (we will actually leave the Kevin Durant part open-ended for now).
It’s a shock to many that he decided to come out this year, and to others, an even bigger surprise that he was chosen by a team in the first round. Jordan will take his Midwest talents to the West coast to help the Warriors return to their championship dominance. While we won’t know how many minutes this rookie will see, we do know how he gets ready for games.
I had a chance to chop it up with Jordan at the Conversion Sports gifting and hospitality event Wednesday evening. We spoke about his training off the court (which includes yoga), his favorite pregame meal (which is pasta) and who is playing in his headphones. Though most players would go for the big dogs like Drake, Meek Mill, and the late Nipsey Hussle, Jordan enjoys warming up to non-traditional artist Smino, and songs like “Wild Irish Roses” help him set the tone on the court. You can check out my conversation with Jordan below, and keep an eyes on this young stars career!
