Destiny’s Child had an anthem for our “Independent Women.” The group released their studio album 18 years ago today and it is still in rotation. It was the peak of the group’s career when the album had released and we are still waiting on a reunion tour from the group. Some of the hit singles that you can recall on the album is: “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” “Emotion” and “Independent Women.”
During the early 2000’s, it has been debuted at the No. 1 charts. With such style and grace that the group has, it was no stopping them. Their bodies was too “bootylicious” for us back then and still is to this day. By “surviving” in the industry, they gave us an anthem that we should keep going with what we are passionate about. As Beyoncé celebrating one year of her Coachella performance last year, I know you remember she brought out her sisters, Kelly and Michelle, as a surprise performance on her set performing old songs like “Soldier,” “Say My Name” and more.
Peep a few visuals of the duo below.
