I had the pleasure of catching up with the Indiana native for a quick Q&A session. He openly discussed his sound, growing up in the hometown of the Jackson’s and his passion for music.

Respect: Who is Rell G?
Rell G: Rel G is a serious rapper who uses music to fight anger, pain, and aggression that started in my childhood. Growing up without a father was really damaging to me and made me who I am today.
Growing up in Gary, IN & Chicago, I saw a lot of gang violence shootouts and that negatively effected me. I knew it was my time to get out of Gary when I went to jail for posssession of cannabis .
By the grace of GOD, I told the judge I took the AS-VAB to join the military and got off the hook. As long as I didn’t come back in her court room I was good.
Rell: I have my second video From Me To You dropping soon and a forthcoming mixtape March Madness dropping this month. This Mixtape you all will be able to hear my story more while I bring the world closer to who I really am and what I’m bout.
